I can't see it
nor can you
but I am sure
you know, it's there
I have questioned often
"why should it be so high?"
Elders told me-"Child,
it's just meant to be"
I was pulled back when
I tried jumping across
For they believe it is
Against 'certain' laws
I asked mother-
"Who decides, who
lives on which side
of this great wall?"
She replied-
"it's your birth"
Confused, but yet accepting,
I grew up with that answer
Often wondering-
would it be different,
had I been born
across this wall?
For everything was divided
by this wall-
our beliefs, our needs
our privileges, our deeds
A few did try
crossing over
A few even tried
breaking it down
But nothing ever
changed
It still stood great and high
Even the Gods
seem to abide
to this 'wall'
in their blessings
For how many
more years
will this go on?
Will it never break?
Wouldn't the world want to see
how different it would be
in the absence of -
The Invisible Wall ?
