Chapter 1 – the phone call

Reid’s pov

I enter the BAU to see that obviously Hotch and Rossi are already here “hey Kid” Morgan comes up behind me “hey” I reply I sit down and look over some work from a previous case when my phone rings.

“Hello?” I speak “hello is this Dr Spencer Reid?” the person asks “yes who’s speaking?” I ask the other person sighs “hello Dr Reid I’m Sheriff Connor from Rhode Island. We have had over eight abduction over the past eight month’s one every stage of pregnancy” he starts “I’m sorry but what does this have to do with me?” I question “yes. I’m sorry to inform you but the latest victim is your cousin Makenzalia Reid.” He informs me and I freeze Kenzie little Kenzie is one pregnant and two a latest victim of a serial killer “okay do you need our help?” stupid question “please not only is your cousin at risk but we have no leads whatsoever” he pleads “okay will you fax through the case file.” I tell him “yes I will do it right now thank you Dr Reid.” I end the call

I sit there for who knows how long until Garcia comes up behind me “hello my genius prince this came through for you” she chirps handing me the file  “ thanks Garcia could you set up the conference room please” I go straight to Hotch’s office and knock on the door “come in” he says and I open the door “what can I do for you Reid” he looks up from his paper work “we have a case I’ll tell you more about in the conference room” I say and he stands up following me out to the conference room where everyone is sat. Garcia starts.

“Okay Rhode island sent this to Reid. The first victim Natalie Parker was abducted 8 months ago then a week later found in the car park of Elroy Community College. She had all repaductive organs cut out. The second victim Julianne Cooper was abducted while coming home from shopping she was two months pregnant she was then found a week later with the bottom of her tummy slashed and a serpent carved on her stomach” she shows the pictures to the group “Reid what is your connection to this case?” Hotch asks I clear my throat

“The Latest victim is my cousin Mackenzalia according to the sheriff she is just coming up to full term” I inform all of them looks to me. “well looking at it all the victims are at a stage of pregnancy” Morgan thinks out loud “okay we’ll take the case but you’re not on it Reid” Hotch conclude “what no I have to be I’m more use to Kenzie if I’m helping please Hotch” I plead he looks at me and thinks it over “okay but keep a clear head.”

On the plane we are going over the other victims “okay so Victim number three is Chloe Grant abducted while on her way to pick up pre natal vitamins she was then found again a week later but with this carved on her stomach and damage to the reapaductive  organs” Garcia says

“okay so the unsub clearly has something against pregnancy and also all the victims are all brunette and barley reached their mid 20’s” Emily points out “wait!” I mumble “what is it Reid” JJ questions “ Kenzie’s different” I click “all the victims are aged between 20-25 all except Kenzie she just turned 18 two months ago” I tell them “okay so why the sudden change in age preference for 8 months this guy has been consistent  the 7th day of each month a young brunette goes missing 7 days later turns up with damage to their repaductive organs and something on their stomach” Rossi asks but no one answers “okay Emily and Rossi you go to the latest abduction spot JJ and Morgan go speak to the to the people where Makenzalia was last seen while me and  Reid go talk to Sheriff Connor”.
