"Jay!!! You better switch on the television before I throw your phone downstairs and kick you out of my room!" Swara yelled and huffed in annoyance as she saw him stand still, typing and smiling like an idiot probably texting Aditi. He was actually supposed to switch on the television so that she could turn on the Netflix as they planned to have a Netflix night.

"Sorry! Please don't turn into a wild cat now." Jay quickly switched on the television and sat on the couch next to Swara, still grinning because Aditi texted him a cheesy I love you message to him. Swara opened the Netflix and started to searching for something new to watch.

Jay finally placed his mobile on the couch and streched his hands up in the air since Aditi was off to sleep. Even after winning his finals, he hardly got any rest or time to spend with his family nor friends as he got to know about the next match and he had to start the preparations for it. There were times he felt that he wasn't giving much time for others but then balancing everything was very hectic for him. From next day their school was getting started, so the night over was a very needed one atleast he would spend some time with his best friend. Swara randomly turned on a webseries and the duo watched until the clock struck at 11:30.

"Let's go." Jay got up and so did Swara. Both sneaked out of her room and went to the kitchen. Swara quickly took the small candle from the cupboard and placed it on the slab. Jay took out the almond cake which he hid in the fridge when he came and before he could place it on the slab he heard someone's footsteps and so he quickly sat on the floor.

"Swara? What are you doing?" Shekhar who came out of his study room since he left his reading glasses in the hall watched Swara in the kitchen and so he asked.

"My water jug was empty. Came to refill it." Swara quickly answered lifting up the empty jug in her hand and mentally sighed. Thankfully she had the jug on the slab.

"Mm.. go to sleep soon." With that Shekhar had left to his room after she nodded. Jay who was seated on the floor sighed heavily because they weren't caught.

"Jay! Let's go." Swara whispered to him softly and quickly yet carefully taking the cake in his hand, Jay walked towards Reema's room while Swara grabbing her gift and the matchbox to lit the candle followed him making sure no one watched them.

Once they reached Reema's room. Swara slowly opened the door trying her best to minimize the cracking sound of the door and went inside the room making sure that they don't wake her up. Jay and Swara carefully placed the cake on the table and was waiting for the clock to strike at exactly twelve and there was just two minutes more.

Both silently sat beside her on the cot and when it was sharp twelve both slowly shook her. Reema opened her eyes and was confused to see both the kids in her room. She sat on the cot and before she could question them, both at unison wished her "Happy Birthday" and hugged her at the same time. It took minutes for Reema to recollect that it was her birthday today. A soft smile spread on her lips as she hugged both of them and planted a soft kiss on both of their foreheads.

Jay took the cake and came while Swara lit the candle and asked her to blow even though Reema was about to protest. It has been two years since she had both of them together to surprise her like that, Jay did it for the two years though when Swara wasn't there.

Jay and Swara sang a happy birthday song  giggling and when Reema blew the candle duo softly clapped their hands so that no one hears them and forwarded the knife. Reema sliced the cake and forwarded it to Swara but she shook no and fed her.

"It has almonds and I'm allergic to it, remember?" Swara pointed the almond cake. Ever since was born, she had the allergy and it was found when she was five years old. She ate almond biscuits and ended up with rashes, uncontrollable cough and resulted in fainting due to excessive exhaustion making everyone terrified back then.
