Sometime around noon Christmas Eve morning, we arrived at Aunt Chloe’s huge house outside of Nashville. She preferred to be out in the country with nature and her husband, who when he could, was a huge outdoorsman, but his job was just as demanding as Aunt Chloe’s. Did I mention that Aunt Chloe was one of the biggest stars in Nashville and that her husband was Blake Winehouse, one of the greatest country stars of all time.

Girls who aren’t related to Blake Winehouse would call him cute because of his looks, muscles, and abs. You might call him something like Luke Bryan, but better, but I won’t because he’s my uncle.

My family’s minivan probably looked sad next to something as great as there five hundred acre palace. Blake had hunting areas and blinds marked all around here and Chloe had a large pool and spa out back, and also her garden. Let’s just say they have some money that they can afford to be generous with, unlike my family.

We all got out of the car and huddled by the door as Henry rang the bell.

One of their maids answered the door a second later. “Hello, how may I help you?” she asked kindly.

“We’re family of Chloe. We’re here for the holidays,” my dad said.

“Oh, welcome, welcome. Joshua will lead you to your rooms. There is an intercom system wired throughout the house. Call if you need anything!” she said.

We looked over to the man who must’ve been Joshua. “If you’d follow me this way,” he said and motioned towards the grand staircase. He started walking and we followed.

“For safety purposes we have keys for each of your rooms, similar to hotel rooms. This will be your way of accessing your rooms. If you lose your key, you can use the central intercom system or find any of the staff to give you a new one,” Joshua said. He pulled a piece of paper out of his pocket and started reading off of it. “Now, Chloe and Blake have assigned each of you to a room. I’ll give you your keys and show you each room now.”

He stopped at the first door in the long hallway. “This room belongs to Henry. We hope you enjoy your manly estate,” he read off the paper.

Henry moved to the front of the pack and snatched up the key. He went into the room and we moved on to the next room.

“We picked this room for Janice. We’re hoping the closet and vanity is of substantial size to fit your needs.” It was well known by anyone in our family and practically anyone in our family that Janice like clothes, jewelry, make-up, and anything girly-girl. Chloe and Blake had taken this into thought, it seemed.

Janice excitedly, and with a little squeal took her key and with an extra hop in her step went inside. The pink was like an explosion, and all she had done was open the door a crack.

The names went on until it was just me and my parents.

“And the master guest suite goes to Hank and Cecilia. Hope you enjoy,” Joshua read. He handed each of my parents their keys and they eagerly went to check out the inside.

Joshua started to walk away, but I stopped him with a tap on his shoulder. “Excuse me, I wasn’t assigned a room,” I told him.

“Uh, I don’t know what that’s about. Your name?” he asked.

“Reina,” I told him.

He scanned the paper with Aunt Chloe’s messy scribbles, worth a lot to one of her fans. “I don’t see your name, but I’ll go find Chloe to figure it out. You can just follow me,” he said.

I followed Joshua like he said to the other wing. Without knocking, he opened the door to the master suite.

“Ah, Joshua. What’s the issue?” Aunt Chloe asked.
