I woke up with a start. I sat up as fast as I could and hit my head on something hard.
"Ouch" I whispered to myself. The room I was in was dark. I could kind of see but still pretty dark. I rubbed my forehead where I had hit it. The floor I was sitting on was rough and uneven. I put my hand on it. It felt like rock.
"Who is that?" Someone called out. Their voice unfamiliar. It startled me to hear another person in here. It's good I'm not alone.
"Uh my name is Halle. I don't remember anything. But hey." I said awkwardly. Why was I so awkward? I don't know. Maybe that's just how I am. I don't remember.
"Yeah my names Austin. I also don't remember like anything at all. What a great place to be right?" He asked. I didn't know where he was in this room. It was too dark to see. My eyes had slightly adjusted so I could see a little but even then. Couldn't exactly see.
"So you have anything on you? Specifically something that could help us see?" I asked. I put my arms up to see if the ceiling was low or not. I decided no and tried to stand up. Hey! It's high enough to stand.
"Um I think I might have a bag. Not sure though." He said. I heard some shuffling then a bright light was burning. I covered up my eyes trying to get used to it. I could finally see Austin. He smiled at me. When I walked out of the light the darkness surprised me. I stumbled a bit. It seemed to be weighing me down. Slowing me. Making me want to give up. I wasn't giving up just yet.
"That's nice." I said and started looking around the cave. It was all rocks. Just rock rocks and more rocks. Wow way to go. Rock central.
"So what else is in that bag?" I questioned Austin walking back into the light.
"Um let me see." He said rummaging through the bag. I waited a second.
"Some snacks and little random things." He replied putting the bag down. "There's another one over there." He stated pointing towards the part of the cave where I woke up. I walked over to it and looked inside. Another torch. So I lit it up and walked back over to Austin.
"Time to go adventuring." I stated and we walked forward.
