Jin sighed, scrolling through his messages once again, a multitude of messages from unsaved numbers staring back at him.

Each was a strong contender for a roommate... until Jin set up a meeting with them, only to find out they wouldn't be a good match. Sometimes it was their personality, or the way they treated waitresses. Other times, it was their complete disregard for financial awareness.

Sighing again, Jin tosses his phone aside, half-tempted to message a few of his more low-key Tinder matches, asking if any of them would be interested in splitting rent at his new apartment.

His eyes scan over the rather cozy, yet stylish living space, the due date for his rent hovering over him like a storm cloud threatening to cut loose any second.

I didn't think it'd be this hard, he thinks to himself, there's tons of guys out there looking for a roommate...

Just not the right guy, apparently.

Jin's mind wanders from his rent to more important matters, like dinner. He checks his watch, noticing it's nearly 9:00.

How did he not notice the darkened sky outside?

He crosses his apartment to the attached kitchen, only to find an empty fridge. Sighing, he searches the couch for his phone, then snatches his keys and wallet off the kitchen counter, and heads out the door.
