The sun was setting over the horizon as she made her way out of the water. It's gonna sound cliche but his heart stopped. The sun grazed her wet island brown skin engulfing her. Her hair rested on her back, swinging back and forth as she walked to the shore of the beach.
She was beautiful, I mean she still is. Glancing around she saw him and flashed him a smile.
Oh fuck me, that smile. He thought to himself. Not realizing as he says under his breath. "Beautiful."
She saw him from afar with his usual "wannabe bad boy" vibe that made her smile and giggle.
Turning to her parents she walked to them. "I'm hungry." She states.
How typical. He thought to himself. He was going to snort at her actions but knew he'd get her attention. He didn't want her interacting with him now...drunk and probably high too.
He seemed to zone out because the next thing he knew...she was up there. She was up on a mini stage the family set up for those who wanted to sing. She had a normal voice but that will never keep her away from the spotlight.
"For all those times you rain my parade......." She starts out her song.
She sounded normal but he could listen to her for hours. It was as though she was at a karaoke with her friends. She was having fun.
Damn...he thought to himself. Why now? Why do I feel this? He watched till he couldn't and walked away. He walked away. Thinking to himself.....I can't..I'm the bad guy.
They were just Friends, shot out of each other's lives. He couldn't change that, not now.
She was always there...when he was at his weakest, when he needed someone she was there to say something that made him smile.
She was oblivious, she didn't see anything till pointed out.
It's been days, months, maybe even a year...
It was a hot summer afternoon coming back from a sick lousy party. He slammed his bedroom door frustrated about his recent breakup and not getting laid. Scrolling through his contact he spotted her name, his finger hovered over it for a split second before he tapped it.
Hey Chika. He types in. What are you doing tonight? He enters before stuffing the phone in his pocket cursing at himself for being an idiot.
In less than a minute his phone buzzed with a message. His breath stopped as he nervously took out his phone. It was...his mother texting him to come home.
"Damn it!" He swore under his breath. He ran his fingers through his hair...then his phone rang. At a loss he sighs thinking it was him mom calling. He answered it before even looking at the #ID. "What?" He yells frustratedly.
"Oh sorry, I didn't mean to catch you in a bad mood." She spoke on the other line as the line went silent before he heard the call ending.
Dammit! I'm such an idiot... He sighed as he sat on the floor holding his head. Maybe it's better this way, she won't talk to me now.
He got up and walked into his kitchen, with his head hung.

Placing the phone down after hanging up she shook her head. Probably throwing one of his tantrums, I'll text him later tonight when he is calmer, she thought to herself.
It's a late afternoon and she was bored in her room. I should go out, she thought to herself, but who to call to hang with? Moody guy is definitely a no, Kayla is helping out at her aunt's cupcake shop (last time I was there I got kicked out for starting a cupcake fight and forced to pay with my own allowance since I can't let mom and dad find out. It was fun.) so can't. Emi is babysitting her baby brother. He's such an angel. Tony is baking with his dad, Jay is playing games, Dev is working, and Bernard is out hunting chicks. *sigh* I'll just go out on my own.
She put on some light blue demi short and a white loose crop top with her favorite blue sport bra underneath. She decided to go out clean with not much makeup, just lip gloss and some eyeliner, then tied her hair up in a messy bun. To finish up her look she throws on her favorite white basketball high top sport shoes which she claimed from Jay's shoe cabinet.
Where should I go now? She questioned herself. Hmm..maybe----oh how about the amusement park. It's kinda sad going there without anyone but I'll get some of my photography done. She took her (neatly stuffed it into her b along with its and her phone's charger and her sketchbook before going downstairs.
"Dad I'm heading out!" She hollers as she skips past the lounge room into the kitchen to pack some snacks along the way and a bottle of water.
"Sure don't be late for dinner." Her dad called out from where he was as she shot the front door close. She gets her skateboard from the porch and rides east to the park downtown.
