Stacey's POV

Finally it was the last day of school and I was beyond excited. It was finally time for a break from all the drama in my high school life. We made noise as we excited the school property and people began climbing onto their cars as they went home. I did not have my own car yet because I was too scared to drive myself. My parents usually picked my brother and I up.

Life in the Johnsons house was unbearable. My parents fought all the time and if they were not arguing they were not home at all. This caused my relationship with my twin brother Tucker to grow. Tucker and I have a very strong bond that developed as we spent time home, alone. We would cook food for ourselves and clean the house together. At night we would share a room just because one of us was scared that our family would be broken forever.

I met Tucker on the parking lot waiting for whoever was picking us up today.

"Hey Tee who is picking us up today?" I asked as I approached him.

"Hi Stace.I don't know. But whoever it is is very late" he replied as he pulled me into his arms for a bear hug.

Immediately I pulled away from the hug my dad's black mustag pulled up next to us .

" Hello you two" he greeted with a large smile on his face.

Tucker and I shared a confused look and wondered what was wrong with him. Dad was never the jolly happy kind of guy and he looked really ecstatic. I climbed on the back seat as Tucker sat on the passenger seat. " Hi dad. You look really happy today. What's up? " I asked

"Oh,nothing much. It's just that your mother and I have planned for us to go for a vacation this summer to make up for all the lost time between all of us,"  he began before turning to face Tucker and I with a more serious look

"I know there have been a lot of struggles between my marriage with your mother and we are trying to work things out,I promise. But it's not fair that our issues are making us bad parents to both of you. I know that a vacation can't just fix the holes in our family but I hope it's a step that you guys are willing to take to fix us." He finished as he looked at both of us for an answer.

I knew he was trying all he could to make things right again. And I also knew how much I craved to be part of a normal family.
I looked at Tucker and by the look he gave me I knew he also wanted the same thing I did.A family. A happy family .
"Sounds good dad. We are in" I told him as I smiled at him. He seemed to be even happier that we were on board with his plan .

'I really hope this works' Tucker told me in our twin link. It really came in handy when we were sharing secrets or when we just didn't have the energy to actually talk.

When we arrived home we  were greeted by a very sweet aroma.
"Looks like mom is cooking dinner" I thought to myself. All our lives we were used to eating pizza or take out. My mother was never one to cook any home made food. Plus she never was really home. Tucker and I used to cook once in a while which would always end up in a mess. We were used to this life already and seeing my mother in the kitchen was really surprising.

"There are my two adorable twins. Welcome home my darlings. Just go to your rooms and change before we can eat dinner and discuss the vacation your father has already told you guys about." She said in a cheery voice like she has been waiting all day to see us.

Having my parents around, having seeing my parents actually having smiles that reach their eyes,my mother cooking home made dinner and not hearing my parents scream at each other was too much to handle for me. We rushed upstairs to our rooms and quickly did as we were told.

I changed into grey sweatpants and Tucker's GAP hoodie that I keep stealing from his room. I went to the dining room and found them talking as they prepared the table.

"I just hope there are chicks in that place" I heard Tucker say as my dad laughed at him and mom playfully slapped his hand.

" Hey Stace, apparently we are leaving the day after tomorrow so try to pack your bags tonight because I know you will be the last one to wake up" he said as he smirked at me. "Funny" I pouted my lips.

After dinner and making our plans I went to my room and just stared at the ceiling. Thinking about my family and all the problems we had before including my parents almost getting a divorce,I just prayed that everything will go smoothly. Everything has to go smoothly.

I was about to fall asleep when I heard a soft knock on my door. Tucker peeped through the door and he looked really scared. I stood up from my bed and walked towards him. He entered my room and without saying a word he just held me in a tight hug not willing to let go. I knew he was the most affected by our family feuds as he always felt like it was his responsibility to take care of me in the absence of my parents while there was nobody to take care of him. I held him even tighter letting our embrace talk instead of our words.
"I'm scared Stace," is the only thing that could come out of his mouth before he began to sob.
I didn't want to tell him that it was all going to be okay since I had my own doubts. Nobody knew how all this would end up. " We are in this together Tee" I told him

We stayed in the embrace for much longer before he pulled out and looked at me with a smile. "What?" I asked him as I looked confused.
"I want my hoodie back" he told me with a smirk on his face. The old Tucker was back,I thought to myself before smiling at him.

"Not going to happen" I told him before going to my bed getting comfortable. Tucker followed me and slept beside me. I heard him sigh before his breathing became soft revealing that he was already asleep. I smiled to myself before drifting to sleep.
