Senior year.
I'm excited but don't judge my excitement according to the monotone mood I woke up in.
I'm excited for the loads of work planned out for the student council. I'm excited for all the pressure to get good grades and don't get me started on all the excitement I have for my squeaky clean, approachable, dependable reputation that needs to be upheld during my last year of high school.
I'm so excited I could just..yeah.

I have been staring up at my ceiling for close to twenty minutes, as one normally does, just gathering my thoughts and putting all of them in their rightful cabinets just so I could start my day with a bang. An organised bang but a bang nonetheless but now it's time to deep cleanse.

Impressions matter. Especially making them for the hundredth time. You need to look your best and say all the right things and that is why I take my time looking as best as I can.

After I'm satisfied with my appearance I finally make my way downstairs to eat breakfast and bask in the attention and love I'm showered in constantly mainly because I'm the only child.

"Hello sweetheart? How did you sleep?"that's my dad. Don't ask.

"I slept great. You? Where's mum?"
"I wouldn't know how I slept because I was asleep but I'll make sure to  check tonight,"he answered me with a smile

"Ahaha. So mum? Where is she?"
"She already left to go see grandma. She told you this last night."

"Must've forgotten I guess. When's she coming back?" I asked with a frown just to piss him off
"You can leave now. For the record I also don't care about you."

That was our everyday banter. I kissed his forehead and headed out the door and unlocked my car.

I don't know if you know this but when I talked about impressions that one time ,that also included arrival time and style.  It really doesn't matter but it actually really does.
The drive to school was bearable considering I don't have to share transportation with anyone so that allows me to listen to my very weird cocktailed playlist and not have judgemental eyeballs and eardrums criticising me. It's lit.

"Good morning Mr President,"that's Amy. The vice president and also that one girl that cried during a class presentation that one time in third grade but we do not talk about that anymore.

"Still hate it when you do that," I replied.
"I'm sorry sir."
"Amyyyy," I grumbled whilst rolling my eyes.
"I mean Wesley. Sorry,"she muttered ," so how was your Christmas break?"
"It was good. You?"
"It was great. I went skiing," she replied while giggling ," anyways..."
"Not a word," I just had to throw that in there
She rolled her eyes and continued," The football team is getting a new coach this week. The other one retired. I know you didn't know so I threw that in there ."

She was right. I didn't know. I had no fucking clue anything that happened in the field or pitch or whatever the other athletes chose to call the same piece of land.
Clueless.

"Oh really? Do you know who he is?"
"Nope."
I knew she was done answering and talking to me so I watched her skip over to her other friends while I made my way to homeroom.

I love first days.

This new coach must be something special considering everyone was excited about him and everybody was talking about his arrival. I still had no idea who he was and I still had no clue what was so amazing about him and if I tried just a little bit I could maybe find out.
But I didn't try.

But we serve a Mighty God because information just makes its way to me.  Without me ,as I had mentioned before, even trying. Amazing

Our principal called me into his office to talk to me about the new year's plans and then happened to tell me that the new coach had studied all that coaching stuff and was recognized countrywide due to his prowess.
In  other words, this guy was a fucking legend.
I was in charge of showing him around and making him feel comfortable during his stay at our school.
He also would be arriving the day after tomorrow so your boy did his research. It was given to me but retaining all that information is work. I get props for things like that.

I was actually pretty excited about him coming for some reason.

I'll Google him later.
