Intro:

The prosecution is ready to proceed, Your Honor.

MHA fans have widely theorized about the identity of the traitor teachers believe to be acting in UA since the Training Camp Arc. The Internet is filled with fan opinions, and anyone interested may have found its fair share of suspects.

This is why, since this is the anime I am so focus on in order to write the most read fanfic from my profile, I have decided to share who is my main suspect, or at least the person that to me may have some probabilities to be. I know I won't be the first to suspect about this character, I'm purely going to expose what I consider to be the sources of my suspicion.

Before I start, I want to remind everyone this is just a theory. I'm concious that this is a complex debate where there are more questions than answers, and this theory will most likely be wrong. In other others words, this writing is meant only for entertaining and exchanging opinions if any of my readers is interested.

Also, if you haven't caught up with the anime or manga, be warned: SPOILERS AHEAD!!!!!!

Anyway, let's get to the point;

My main suspect (or more like my only suspect to date) is the student from UA's Class 1A Yuga Aoyama, a.k.a the Shinning Hero.

Hint number 1: Yuga Aoyama's persona

Since the entrance exam in the first season, we get to know this particular student.

There is no doubt that his Quirk, Navel Laser, enabled him to destroy a good number of robots and earn the required points to enter the UA. In that particular episode he even taunts our protagonist for "helping" him by distracting one of the robots so he can bring it down.

We know him as that androgynous, fancy, and somehow sassy character with a French accent who cares way too much about his looks and tends to act as if he was the most amazing thing of the planet (yeah, if one day a Spanish stereotyped hero is introduced in the series he'll probably love bulls, paella, flamenco music, and will spend most of his time complaining about other Spanish people 🙈🙈...).

The thing is that he is always presented as this presumptuous guy who seems to be in love with himself, to the point of thinking he "can't stop twinkling". However, it is well known that in this universe no personality, not even the scary temper of Katsuki Bakugou, is arbitrary, and there is always some story behind. And sure, his Quirk is by no mean a useless one, but we can all agree that it is not the most versatile, or at least not the one most fans would prefer as their own if they got to choose. So, where does Aoyama's over the top attitude come from?

In my opinion, it is unanswered questions like these what make him a character I find interesting, and the fact that he's one of those Class 1A's characters who don't get a lot of time for character interaction on screen raises many other questions. I'll make sure to expose them in further paragraphs.

And yes, of course, there is also the fact that he often seems to be looking at the camera, as if he was breaking the fourth wall and internally saying "I know something you audience don't". That's most likely the author trolling the fans, but I personally can't help to think about it.

What I am trying to say is that I believe Aoyama's ego to be far more than just comedic relief.

In the Marvel universe, characters like Tony Stark or Deadpool also have a tendency to act as if they were the center of the universe, but any comic reader knows about Stark's problem with alcohol and loneliness, as well as Deadpool's terrible childhood and inner demons he usually fights with his black humor. Or, if you rather, we can stay in the anime genre and check the wizard Howl, from Howl's Moving Castle, who now we mention, he may share a couple of things with our suspect. Do you remember? Howl is also a talented, yet superficial, immature and overdramatic young man who hides some dark secrets. For starters, there was that part where he accidentally has his hair color changed and makes a scene saying life is worthless if he can't be beautiful. But under that surface there is a scared child who doesn't want to be in the war where he's forced to fight, and whose overuse of magic is slowly turning him into more beast than human.
