Sitting by the fire watching her young children play in the front yard of their small 3 bedroom cottage, the young mother smiled to herself as she layed back comfortably on the armchair, her eyes roaming slowly through the book that was placed before her.

Today was a peaceful day which was extremely rare for her. A day without any yelling, shouting or abusive husband who usually at this time midday, would come home dangerously intoxicated and take out all his unshed rage on his poor wife, the mother of his five young sons.

Checking the time, the young women raised from her position and made her way towards the front door, calling her sons in from their play time and towards the kitchen where their dinner would be awaiting them.

"Eat up Sam, you know you need to eat healthy if your going to start training soon with the warriors" she encouraged her oldest son, giving him a warning glare as he picked up the spoon of vegetables and gulped them down. One thing Samuel hated the most was broccoli, but he knew arguing with his mother was just a lost cause. She always won. As the saying goes, mothers always know best.

"Ok my darlings, time for bed" she hurried her children up the stairs and towards their bedrooms. Sam and Jake shared the biggest room of the boys, a privilege they loved as they were the oldest. Alec and Zack shared the other, a smaller room but not by much and the youngest of them all, Seth slept in his crib next to his parents bed in the master bedroom.

"Mum, Alec is using my toothbrush again" Zack whined to his mother about his twin brother who in return stuck out his tongue playfully as he grinned. "Are you forgetting, what's yours is also mine. That's the beauty of being twins" Alec answered back. Just as their mother walked into the bathroom, the boys begain a water fight amongst themselves, making a mess in the process.

"Alexander and Zachery, stop it this instant" came a loud and authoritative voice which made both young both stop automatically and bow their head as they looked up at their mothers fuming expression.

"He started it!"

"No, he started it!"

Both boys begain arguing again as they pointed the finger at each other in blame. Exasperated, the young mother sighed as she rolled her eyes and just as she was about to give some talking down to, a loud bang stopped her in her tracks. The whole house went silent, the twins who were now as quiet as mice both looked up at their mother, their eyes filled with fear.

"Grab Seth and go straight into Sam and Jake. Tell Sam to lock the door and by no means open it. Understood?" She ordered her sons in a low whisper as both boys nodded their head in understanding. Hurrying them down the hallway, she stood and watched as they young children disappeared into the bedroom. Their safety was the most important thing her to, even if it meant she would fall victim to the wrath that was soon to be shed by non other then her children's father.

"CLARISSA" the voice from down stairs made her snap her head in the direction of the staircase. He was back and more then likely drunk, as per usual. Gulping down the lump that was in her throat and with shaking hands, Clarissa slowly made her towards the stairs. With a racing heart, sweaty palms and uneven breath, Clarissa closed her eyes for a brief moment to gather her thoughts before she and her way down the stairs and towards the living area.

Slumped lazily on the couch with a beer bottle in one hand and a cigarette in another, her husband looked up at her with a dark and grim expression. Trying her best to control her emotions and hid the increasing fear that was consuming her very being, Clarissa tries her hardest to put on a polite smile as she spoke.

"Honey, what are you doing home so early?" She asked with a shaky voice. The last thing she wanted right now was to piss him off. Keeping him happy and calm right now was the safest thing to do, especially with her children just up stairs. The last time Peter came home like this, he beat Clarissa so bad that she couldn't move her body for days. If she were a werewolf, her body would heal in just a few hours but unfortunately for her she wasn't.
