New Years

"Aww,dammit" Phil whined as he looked at the street outside his window.

It was New Years Eve and Dan and him had planned to go to PJ's to celebrate with Christ,Kat,Tyler and Luke.They had all decided to spend New Years day at PJ's house so they could all hang out and spend a good time since Ty,Luke and Kat barely flew to London.But of course,some asshole had to play cool and caused a massive car crash in front of their apartment building,making their whole street close down.No cars were allowed in or out so it was impossible to ask for a taxi and the nearest bus stop was miles away.The streets of London were too dangerous at night so they weren't gonna risk it.

"I called PJ and told him we couldn't make it." Dan said as he entered the living room where Phil was in.He sat in the window sill next to Phil as they both looked down at the streets.Dan frowned and mumbled as he saw the several cars crashed together.

"This stinks,I was even wearing my best shirt!" Dan exclaimed as he got up and slumped himself on the couch.Phil gave him a small smile and walked over,shoving Dan's legs to the side to make room for him.

"It isn't all bad." Phil started as Dan turned a bit to look at him."We can spend New Years here with some chocolate and Attack on Titan." He saw Dan rolled his eyes but then the brown haired boy settled himself on Phil's lap.

"I guess...I just wanted to see Kat again." Dan explained as he felt Phil freeze under him for a second before relaxing and running a hand through Dan's fringe.

"How come? Planning on doing on something with her this year?" Phil grinned but even Dan could see it was forced.

"Of course not." Dan laughed and took Phil's hand,unconsciously lacing there fingers together."I don't like her like that,she's just a great friend,that's all."

Phil looks at Dan,then at their hands and then back at Dan.He smiles and shakes his head making his fringe go all over the place.He pokes Dan nose signaling he's getting up and Dan complies.

"I'm gonna go change into my pijamas,these clothes are way to tight." Phil says as he makes his way to his room.

He quickly discards of his button down shirt and skinny jeans and puts on his super hero pijamas.He runs a hand through his hair,his thoughts all over the place.

'Does Dan not really like Kat,or someone in particular?' Phil asked himself as he looked for his slippers.

'Maybe he does.' He thought as he finally found them.'but I really hope not.'

He made way out of his room to the living room where Dan was waiting for him in his own pijamas and cup of tea.It made Phil smile and blush a bit,making Dan smile back at him.

If Phil was being honest,he did have a small crush on Dan.

"I put pizza in the oven and was about to put on AOT.Come on." Dan said as he handed Phil his tea and made his way to the couch,patting the space next to him.

Scratch that,he had a massive crush on Dan.

At the beginning it was all about being friendly and their friendship meant the world to Phil,but there was so much he could take before liking Dan. He would even say that he was falling for him,but he wasn't so sure.He didn't want to get ahead of himself to get his heart broken.

"Phil?" Dan tilted his head.Phil broke his trance and went and sat next to his best friend.

They saw a few episode of AOT and then watched a movie.It around 10 pm that Phil felt weight on his shoulder.Dan had his eyes closed,breathing evenly and Phil didn't resist the urge to plant a kiss on his forehead.He could of sworn that he saw Dan smile in his sleep.Phil leaned back on the couch so his back was on the arm rest and he fixed Dan on his chest.Dan let out a content sigh and wrapped his arms around Phil's torso.

"Phil?" Dan mumbled and Phil tilted his head to get a better look at Dan.

"I'm glad that I get to spend another year with you,you mean so much.I'm lucky to have you in my life." Dan whispered and when he was done he looked up at Phil.He had small smile on his face,and being the sentimental of the two,had teary eyes.Dan smiled back at him and leaned up to place a kiss on his cheek.He could feel Phil's heart rate speed up under him,which made him smile even more.

He settled back on Phil's chest,closing his eyes and listening to Phil's heart.The blue eyed boy only brushed Dan's hair and smiled down at him.

He couldn't ask for anything better.

After what felt like minutes,Phil heard fireworks outside his window and turned to the clock on top of the chimney.It had 11:58 pm,two minutes before mid night.He switched the tv so it showed the count down to 2015 and shook Dan silently awake.

"Dan,there's two minutes until midnight." Phil whispered as Dan slowly opened his eyes.He looked over at the Tv as he settled back on Phil's chest.The laid there silently as they watched the countdown,Phil's arms around Dan and Dan's head and arms on Phil's chest.18 seconds till New years did Dan lift his head to look at Phil.

Phil looked curiously at Dan.

"Dan?" Phil asked as Dan only gave him a small smile.

Dan lifted himself up to be at eye level with Phil.

Balancing on his arms,Dan ran a hand over Phil's hair,then down to his cheek.

Dan got closer to him,noses touching and Phil's breath caught up in his throat.

"Dan?" Phil asked again,barely above a whisper.

"I love you Phil." Dan whispered as he fixed himself to be on his knees,almost in his friends lap,without breaking eye contact.

Phil sat there shocked as Dan's runs his hands over his hair before settling around Phil's neck.

"Really?" Phil asked,only receiving a nod as a response.

Phil smiled as he leaned in,breaths mixing together and lips barely touching.

They didn't hear the fireworks outside,the happy cries of people mute to them,they were to involved in eachother.The kiss wasn't rushed,nothing lustful,just pure love that was cooped up between them.Phil pulled Dan closer,Dan tightening his arms around him as they shared a moment that could bring a new,happy future for them.When they parted,a smile was shared between the two as the cuddled closer,giving hushed kisses that was the complete contrast of what was going on outside.

"Happy New Year,Dan."

"Happy New Year,Phil."
