My father use to say being afraid of the dark was foolish, but not being afraid is what had him killed……….

“Olivia! Olivia, Run!” My mother screamed to me I hastily grabbed my younger brother’s pale hand and dragged him along with me as we ran to the door. I heard the tear of flesh and turned around Big Mistake I saw the thing had tore into my mother there was the putrid smell of the warm fresh blood of my mother and what was left of my family everywhere. I heard another high pitch scream to my left and saw that my little brother was grabbed by one of them one was about to get me……

I gasped awake drawing in quick startled pants as I clung to my chest. I was sweating heavily I felt tears clung to my eyes as I looked around. I was in my room, a pale lavender color room with a dark brown carpet and a white rug in the middle. I pulled the pink comforter off of me as I got up. My pale feet arched to get off of the cool floor and back in my covers but I knew I had to do this. I opened my door and tiptoed down the hall and to the room labeled George ,the door was slightly open and I could make out the night light. I slowly opened the door and was pleased to find a small 6 year old with light brown hair that was slightly messy with pale skin, snoring slightly as he layed on his bed. I nodded in content and made my way back to my room, and slowly closed the door hearing the soft click it made. I laided back in my bed, and then found myself succombing to a sweet dreamless sleep.

I woke up hearing my alarm screeching, the clock read 6:35 I sighed in relief another nightmare if I keep this up Mom is gonna make more appointments with the therapist I thought to myself. I quickly slipped into the shower and then threw on a white bra with matching underwear and then a black crop top that said in red letters You Can’t Tame This and had white designs on it I then slipped it over the white tank top that I found laying on my bed. I also threw on black leggings and black white and red sneakers . I opened my door and hurriedly ran downstairs into the kitchen where my mother was. I smiled at her showing away my bright teeth. My mother smiled back at me “Hey Liv, did you hav-” She cut herself off as she saw the bags that clearly hung under my eyes. She looked at me sympathetically “Oh honey…” She dragged out. I just shook my head at her the heavy footsteps of Phi-my father. Dad went over and gave my mom a kiss.

Then went and scratched the top of my dirty blonde hair. I grumbled in annoyance as he and my mom chuckled.

I heard the wailing of my little sister Posy, who had just turned turned 7 months old yesterday. My mother sighed and ran up to get her passing my little brothers Zale and George as they walked down. My mom had me then George, and then Zale and then

Posy, you see my real father was name was Mark Hampis, he knocked my mother up at 21 and then bailed on me and mom. He came back and knocked my mother up with George, and then me and George’s dad died when I was 9 so about 8 years ago, George was 2 at the time. After that my mother meet Phil and had Zale and Posy my half-siblings. Out of all my siblings me and George were the closest and the way my father died well we became even closer. Even though my dad had died 8 years ago I still miss him so much. That is why I have nightmares, well there is nothing to do about it now I am 17, George is 6, Zale is 4, and Posy like I said is 7 months old. So yeah this is my life.

Anyway I smile as George came in, I walked over and ruffled his hair lightly as I picked Zale up. George looked up at me with the green eyes that me and him shared from our father. His eyes glistened with happiness as he looked at me, Zale tugged lightly on my longish hair, I turned to look at him. “Yeah Z?” I asked him he looked up at me smiling showing off the light gap in his teeth “C-Can you put me down now?” He asked me. I grinned and evilly laughed “I will never put you down! Never!” I half yelled. He started squealing as I tickled him squirming in his light yellow and brown monkey pajamas. “Olivia! Zale!” Mom snapped at us as she walked in the kitchen with Posy. I smiled innocently at her as she glared playfully at us with the blue eyes that her and Zale share.
