If you were wondering how my time at university was going, well, I still hadn't plucked up the courage to go to any raging parties just yet.
Apparently that may have been a good thing, though, as I heard that Lily's party had been ended rather abruptly, after a call from one of the neighbours.
Why did I have this inkling that Zara may have been the reason behind that?
Either way, I knew that things were about to change, for Winona knocked upon my door to let me know that we would be heading out soon, and I only had so long to get ready.
This was new, of course.
I had never actually been out to a nightclub before, but I was willing to give it a shot.
The place that we were going to was called Records, and it had only just opened, so I already knew that it was more than likely going to be packed.
I wish I had a literal chill pill that I could take, but unfortunately right now, that wasn't the case.
I couldn't be too worried, though, at least I was going to be with X and Winona, my new friends.
They had meant that my year as a first-year student had gotten off to a good start, and given that they were a couple years older than me, they were able to share their tips with me on how to, well, live life.
"You're going to have fun, Selina. I promise you," X told me.
I smiled towards them, but I wish I could have said that it was sincere.
My stomach was still gurgling a little, but that may have just been due to the cheese pasta I had made for myself.
"Yeah, I look forward to it," I replied.
Winona just gave me a look, as she continued to get me ready.
She had done so much of my makeup already that I hardly believed I would be recognizable.
When she showed me my reflection in the mirror, though, I couldn't help but grin at myself.
It had felt like a lot of makeup when she had been applying it, but now I noticed how the contrasts of the eye shadows and lip glosses just made my features stand out more.
I was beautiful.
At least, I had an ego boost for a few moments, before X informed me that we would be leaving soon.
I was dressed in a short black dress, with tights and a black chain to match, too.
It was safe to say I felt a little out of my comfort zone, but I felt...
"Hot. You look hot, Selina," Winona said, as she grinned towards me.
"I do?" I asked.
Winona nodded enthusiastically.
"Duh, girl. Own that," she told me.
I couldn't help but smile at that.
It was always nice to receive compliments, especially when they came from girls.
"How do I look?" she asked me, then.
"Stunning," I replied.
She really did, too.
Winona's beauty was evident, but it wasn't in your face about it.
She didn't have to try too hard to be beautiful, and nor did most girls, including Zara, but I think she tried to heavily make herself something else, as a means of gaining others' attention.
