what is Umbra ?

Umbra is a vast realm that exists in one of the dark dimensions that parallels the human world we know. Some refer to Umbra as the Spirit World for its paranormal environment.

Umbra consists of 14 Lands, each land has a several amount of territories. These territories may contain all sorts of creatures such as demons, monsters, the undead, spirits, Yokai, Faes and mythical beasts; An endless amount of entities that coexist with one another. But while these creatures may share the same world, they do not share the same views and rules. Nightmarish and cruel wars tend to break loose across the Umbra lands. Some areas in Umbra are restricted to outsiders for the simple reason that it might be governed by a higher power that could be a leader, lord, queen, king or empress/emperor of the land but another reason why some areas are off limits is because they are filled with horrors that not even the fiercest of spirits or demons would be able to withstand.

Umbra's habitat is filled with petrifying paranormal organisms. Plants, fruits and wild beasts are all dangerous. It is rare the cases when an actual safe environment is found. Most wild beast feed off from spirits or humans who dare to trespass into Umbra. Some plants and fruits can turn out to be minor entities who prey on people who try to use or eat them. Sometimes these fruits or plants can be actual normal fruits and plants but are poisonous or rotten inside. The rivers, lakes and oceans in Umbra, may contain big amounts of aquatic monsters and Miasmata. Sea life in Umbra is just as bad as the land dwelling life but what separates it is how these oceans can sometimes be referred to as the Black Seas for the vast corruption that flows in its waters.

The atmosphere of Umbra is a very forbidding one. It is always cold and in some cases it tends to rain or snow heavily. The skies are always cloudy and gray but what supplies this terrifying world with some light is The Shining Eye. This eye acts as Umbra's own personal moon. Similar to the human's moon, it has phases. One is the Lunar cry, when the moon turns red and cries blood onto the surface of Umbra. The tears of this mysterious eye, creates frightening Enthyromorphs, who's job is to collect or infect spirits near the area. Once they are done, the Eye calls them back into its being. Whatever they have collected acts as energy for the eye to keep supplying Umbra with Light. The second state of the Eye moon is called Dark Phase This is when the lunar eye closes completely, making Umbra's surface completely dark. This darkness spawns out infernal creatures that are either looking for victims or simply looking to destroy and eat anything on their paths. Most spirits tend to hide away whenever the Lunar cry or Dark Phase are taking place.

It is believed by many in the Umbra realm that the absolute ruler of Umbra is the Empress. The Empress of Umbra holds a lot of power in comparison to many other powerful entities that live in the same world as her but very few Demon-lords, leaders, kings and Queens almost match her same power of authority. The Empress may have several secret alliances with others who may match her. She is one of the many reasons Umbra is a place of bloodshed and never ending nightmares.

Umbra has hidden gates that connects to other dimensions. These dimensions may sometimes have access into Umbra itself. The downside is, these concealed gates may have guardians that won't allow other beings from other worlds infiltrate into Umbra without paying some sort of high price or getting approved by the Empress or one of the 7 kings or another higher being who possesses power over the dimensional gate. Those who belong to the mortal world, do not necessarily require to go through these gates. Creatures or Humans that belong to the world of humanity, have multiple options on how to enter into Umbra.
Those ways are:

~Dokalfer gates, located in the Dokalfer mountains

~Making a pact with a demon or entity from umbra

~ Ancient objects that may connect to Umbra.

~The well of the Netherworld
~ Summerian tunnel

~ The book of secrets, which contains the magical steps on how to open a portal into Umbra.
