"What? They arranged a surprise barbecue party for him?" I asked Aunt.

"Oh yes, Britney wanted to tell you but Xander was there so she couldn't," Aunt said chuckling, "Go dress up, my doll, I have made some cookies for them."

I smiled wearily but was really consent with the idea. Maybe I could talk to William. I could just hope. Aunt probably didn't believe me yet, I sighed at the thought.

The weather was a hell lot warmer with dry crisp stimulating cool air as the sun began settling behind the horizon. I picked at my hair while staring at myself in the mirror. I had lost a few pounds, no doubt, but the puffy jacket did a good job hiding that.

Sighing, I took my boots and made my way down to join Aunt. Uncle also agreed to join us, big surprise there. We three soon huddled into Uncle's jeep, driving down the streets afterwards. The GPS was set in a different location.

"Umm, Uncle? Aren't we supposed to go to their house?" I questioned.

"Oh no, sweetie," Aunt said from the front, "they planned it on the cliffs."

The Cliffs. Isn't that where William took me on my birthday?

My thoughts were answered after a while as we drove up the spiralling road to the top. Lots of other cars were parked and we could hear laughs and clicking of glasses as we made our way. The place was a little on the huge open area that was spared from the heavy vegetation.

My eyes went around to the top, filled with trees and I thought of the night of my birthday.

"Oh hey, there!" Britney rose up from her seat and greeted us. Aunt and Uncle went around to meet up with Mr. and Mrs. Benmonte while Britney took me to the centre where a bonfire was set.

"Glad you made it," she said, "how do we look?"

She gave a small twirl showing her growing belly as we giggled,

"You both look gorgeous," I said.

"What was Mrs. Benmonte's reaction?" I inquired as we started walking around.

"Well, she was furious but Xandi did a good job in saving me and my baby. I don't know how but Xandi knew about my pregnancy," Britney wondered looking into the distant, "maybe he could hear me in his coma, who knows."

I blinked sometime at the information before asking, "He remembers everything?"

"Not really, he really doesn't remember that much, kinda have to remind him but then he gets it," she said shrugging.

"Who gets it?" William spoke from behind as we turned around.

"Oh hi there Abby, sorry to break the conversation but Brat, Dad's looking for you," William informed.

"I will be right back, Xandi please keep Abby company."

With that, Britney strode off to the direction where Mr. Benmonte was chatting with his friends.

"So, you liked the surprise?" I asked fiddling with my fingers.

William looked up to me from his hooded eyes and smiled a bit, "Totally, bonfires are my absolute favourite."

"You wanna make some s'mores?"
William's eyes widened only by a bit but he nodded regardless of what he wanted.

There were a variety of marshmallow that would feed at least a hundred people. My eyes fell on a packet of peeps.

I picked at that and brought it out to show William but he was busy poking at the ring. The ring. I had given my ring for repair. Yep, I had successfully broken William's one too.

"Who gave you that ring?" I asked, my heart hammering erratically.

William blinked profusely and then looked up, "I-I can't remember but I had this on me when I woke from coma. No one could say who gave it to me so I just fixed it," he sighed, "I don't know but its feels like someone very special gifted it to me."

I gulped, my eyes flooding with an awful emotion of sadness.

"Can-can I show you something, Xander?" I asked.

"Yeah, sure."

I took him slowly by his hand as we made our way to the top of the cliff. It was too dark but I remembered every bit as if I had come here yesterday.

"What is this place?"

"Wait a bit," I said moving the branches that was in the way. Soon enough, we came at the small clearing.

The big boulder of rock sat there and the barricade with sign warning to not go further stood still.

"I-how do you know this place?" William asked, his face flashing with recognition.

"I don't, you showed me, it's your secret paradise," I said speaking more clearly.

It was now or never.

"I did? Have we met before, Abby?" He asked.

"Yes, but I didn't know you as Xander, you said you were William, a spirit."

Some moments passed while William just stared at him with his eyes narrowed.

"Who are you?"

I sighed but motioned to the sky filled with stars that blazed with a strange intensity.

"You know, most stars travel in pairs or clusters while others, like our Sun, moves alone," I continued, "you said that to me on the night of my birthday, you studied astronomy."

By then William had his eyes widened to the point where I could only see his dark orbs.

"How-how, I can't remember anything," he said.

"William-"

"Stop, how do you know my middle name?"

"You said it to me-"

"Stop lying-"

"I'm not, I'm saying the truth, you said after the crash some Guardian angel granted you the permission of seeking apology from me by being spirited away-"

"Can you hear yourself, the fuck you're blabbering?" he yelled.

I just sighed looking at the ground. Then I did something I never thought I would.

Without thinking any further, I strode up to him and crashed my lips against his.

The whole world stilled. The same repel passed through our my body but I didn't let go of him.

It felt like I was complete. Like we were one.

One spirit bounded in two bodies.

A sudden push caught me off guard. He pushed me away, staring at me incredulously.

I staggered a bit, caught off guard at his abrupt harshness.

"William, please hear me out, you knew me as Ros-"

I couldn't finish my sentence when I saw him having trouble breathing.

"Will, are you okay?" I asked, suddenly scared. What if I had pushed him too much?

"I-I can't breathe, Ro-" he started taking in short breaths but coughing out and falling to the ground.

"I will get some help, please take in deep breaths," I said as I ran past the trees calling out for help.

I might have lost my William forever.
