That annoying 6AM alarm went off. "Uggh!" Nicole groaned as she turned off the alarm. Nicole took a quick shower then put on a dark outfit, she wasn't feeling it today for some reason. Even though she wasn't feeling today she curled her hair since she still wanted to look good for Peter. That took about fifteen minutes so she had to hurry up. Nicole slipped on some socks and a pair of black converse. She grabbed her bag and waited for Peter on the porch.
Peter pulled up in his car. "Hey are you ready?" He called out to Nicole from her porch.
"Yes." Nicole smiled. She got into the passenger seat of Peter's car. When she was around him she couldn't stop smiling. "Thanks for picking me up Peter." Nicole blushed. Nicole always felt like there were butterflies in her stomach when she was around Peter but was always to scared to say anything.
Peter parked in the student parking lot and Nicole and Peter went to hang out before the bell rung.
"So what made you move to Queens?" Peter asked trying to start a conversation.
"Oh..my brother works for some guy named Tony Stark." Nicole shrugged.
Peter looked like he had just saw a ghost as he tried to put everything together in his head. "Oh that sneaky man!" Peter shook his head.
"What?" Nicole was confused.
"I'll tell you later about it." Peter winked giving Nicole his number.
"You did that just to get my number." Nicole laughed as she saved Peter's number to her phone.
"Maybe." Peter winked.
Nicole turned bright red. She really liked him but it was way too soon for that, she had only just met him. The bell rung and Peter and Nicole walked together to chemistry.
The chemistry teacher went over a lab where the class followed along making a simple concoction that over flows just like a volcano.
"Oh no it went everywhere!" Peter laughed. He's so cute. Nicole couldn't stop blushing every time Peter did something dorky. She then got a sad look on her face when she remembered she had only just met him but wanted to be with him so bad, it tore her up inside.
Peter noticed Nicole looked a little sad. "Everything okay?" He wondered looking concerned.
Nicole put on the best fake smile she could, "Yes, I'm okay."
"No, no something seem off." Peter put his hand on hers.
Nicole took her hand away and quickly wiped a tear away before Peter could see, "I'm good." Nicole said firmly. The bell rung and Nicole left as soon as she could, leaving Peter behind.
The day seemed to go by so much slower than yesterday but it was finally lunch time. Nicole sat by herself instead of sitting with Peter. She put her head down on the table, she didn't even feel like eating. Peter noticed Nicole sitting all alone and came over to her and rubbed her back. "It's okay." He said softly.
Carl noticed from the other side of the lunch room that Nicole looked upset so he came over to where she was. "What's wrong?" He asked placing his hand on her back.
"I don't want to talk about it." Nicole said, her voice breaking.
Nicole flung herself into Carl's arms and started sobbing into his chest. Everyone started looking her way so Peter blocked their view by hugging the other side of her. Peter rubbed Nicole's back. "Shhhh it's okay." He comforted her.
Nicole knew deep down it wasn't okay, she dried her tears, "I have to go I'll be late for class." She sighed. Nicole walked to math class alone and sat in her seat. Some guy started checking her out.
"You look so fine girl." The guy said.
"I have a name." Nicole scoffed as she stood up, balling her fists up. It took everything she had in her not to punch the guy in his jaw.
"Oh yeah? And What's that?" The boy smirked.
Nicole gave the boy a mean look and went to push him back in his chair then she stopped when Carl got up.
It's none of your damn business!" Carl gritted his teeth as he got up.
"Oh yeah? And what are you going to do about it?" The boy gimmicked.
"Beat your ass for messing with MY best friend like that." Carl said, raising his voice.
The bully tried to punch Carl but Carl was too quick and he knocked the bully out with one punch to the face.
Nicole couldn't believe what just happened. She sat down, shaking.
"Carl Grimes report to the principal's office immediately!" the math teacher pointed towards the classroom door.
Carl got up. "Whatever man. He deserved it he was disrespecting my best friend."
Math went by pretty slow but it was finally the end of the day and Nicole was just ready to go home. Peter tried to get Nicole's attention but she was too quick. She got into Daryl's car. "How was your day?" He wondered.
"Please bubby just drive." She put her head in her hands.
"What's wrong?" Daryl wondered.
"I. Don't. Want. To. Talk. About. It." Nicole huffed.
"Whoa okay sis we won't talk about it then." Daryl held his hands up in surrender. Daryl went silent after that and drove his sister home.
Nicole got out of the car and went straight to her room, slammed her bag on the floor, and dropped onto her bed and sobbed into her pillow.
Nicole's phone started going off after about ten minutes.
Peter: Are you okay?
Please talk to me I'm worried about you.
Is it me?
You can talk to me.
Nicole: I'm fine.
Peter: From what I saw today no you're not so talk to me.
A tear rolled down Nicole's cheek.
Nicole: I have feelings for you okay. It hurts too much because I know we can't be together right now because we only just met.
Peter: I feel the same way.
Nicole smiled a little knowing that was true.
Nicole: Can we talk more later? I'm really tired Peter but I'm glad I got that out.
Peter: Good night sweet dreams.
Nicole turned her phone off and plugged it up and went to sleep thinking about Peter the whole night.
