The rest of the day was great, mostly because I was no longer shoved in a locker. I barely made it on time to Biology, and took my seat next to Caleb. Our teacher Mr. Duncan doesn't like assigned seating, so I guess I'll get to sit next to him all semester. We spent our free period in the music suite again and then went to choir. At the end of the day, I grabbed my books and headed to the backseat of the car. Part way into our drive, August starts talking about what happened today.
"So, Benny, Cece told me a certain junior in her math class has been bullying her." Benny turned around and glared at me.
"Oh, did she?" He asks, obviously pissed at me. I don't know why, he's the one who put me in the locker and I didn't even tell on him.
"Yeah, he shoved her in a locker after lunch. She had to call me to come get her out."
"Oh, well I'm sorry you had to deal with that, and that she bothered you." Benny continued to glare at me as he was talking.
"Well I didn't have any other options. I was stuck in my own locker." I replied to him.
"Whatever, my point is can you make sure this doesn't happen again?" August asked him, causing me to roll my eyes.
"Sure, I'll try my best." Finally, we pulled into the driveway. I immediately went into my room and threw my backpack onto the ground, lying backward across my bed. A few minutes later, door opened and I sat up, seeing that Benny had come in.
"Come here." Benny said.
"I don't want to talk to you." I lied back down on my bed.
"Cece, I won't say it again, come here." He was obviously not taking no for an answer, but I didn't care. He was awful to me today, so I felt like being difficult.
"Benny, I won't say it again, I don't want to talk to you." I mocked.
"Fine. We can do this the hard way." He stormed over to me and picked me up, slinging me over his shoulder. He walked out my door
"Benny!" I yelled, pounding on his back and squirming around. He didn't loosen his grip on me. "Put me down!"
"Okay, fine." He walked straight into his messy room and dropped me on the floor.
"Ow!" I complained, standing up. "What do you want?"
"Why the hell did you call August?! He didn't need to know! Now eventually he's going to find out it was me!" He yelled at me, punching my arm decently hard. I winced in pain and went to rub it.
"What else was I supposed to do?" I spat back
"You could've just stayed where you were, I would've gotten you out eventually."
"I would've missed class!" I defended myself
"Yeah of course you would care about that, nerd!" He spun me around and yanked my underwear up.
"Ow ow ow Benny, please let me go!" I whined
"Not until you apologize." He pulled even higher, sending me up on my tip toes.
"Benny please it hurts!" I carefully balanced on my toes, trying to alleviate the pain
"Higher? Okay." He pulled up again, making my feet leave the ground. As I held back tears, he teased me. "Feel like apologizing yet, dork?"
"WHY SHOULD I APOLOGIZE? YOU'RE THE ONE WHO PUT ME IN THE DAMN LOCKER!" I yelled. He let go immediately, and I landed on my feet. I immediately shoved my underwear back into my jeans as August stormed into the room.
"What did she just say?" August asked furiously. Benny and I were both silent. "You locked our little sister in her own locker?"
"It was just a stupid prank! It's not like it hurt her!"
"She's afraid of the dark! She almost missed class! Why'd you do it?" Benny was quiet again. "And even though she lied to me so you wouldn't get in trouble, now you're beating her up? What is wrong with you?!" August kept yelling. "Mom is going to be so pissed at you."
"Wait, dude, don't tell mom! She'll take my phone away." Benny pleaded.
"August, it's okay. I'm fine. It was a stupid mistake and he won't do it again. You don't have to tell mom." I reasoned, hoping that Benny might not be mad at me if I defended him.
"Are you sure you're okay with that?" August asked. I nodded. "Okay. But if you do something like this again, I will kick your ass." He left the room. Benny was quiet again, and he was blocking my way out.
"Are you mad at me?" I asked him. As a response, he pulled me into a hug.
"Thank you and I'm sorry. Are you mad at me?"
"A little bit, but I wouldn't be if you let me sit in the front seat for the rest of the week." I smirked and he rolled his eyes, but smiled back.
