“Tamaki, you’re an idiot,” Carter grumbles, rubbing her temples, hoping the headache would go away before it completely shows up. Mori manages to help her off the helicopter and goes back for Ella while the pregnant one goes to Haruhi and shoves Tamaki out of her way, “I trusted you,” Haruhi grumbles and Carter gasps, offended.
“I told him nothing! He came to the house this morning after calling everyone to say his conspiracies about you being broke, kidnapped, and forced into servitude. Kyoya is the one that told him the location,” Carter huffs, crossing her arms with a pout before grinning and hugging Haruhi, who rolls her eyes and hugs back.
The hug was short lived because soon their was screaming and Snail was going on defense as Carters “cousin”(was actually someone that previously dated one of her moms drug addict cousins that has since past, but her mom kept the ex lover as family because-decent person) runs towards her with sparkles, flower trails, and heart eyes.
“Safe,” Carter says, patting the dogs head and smiling at the lady who stopped directly in front of her with a shocked expression, “I don’t think I’m that old,” Misuzu mutters, staring at the belly. “You're not, we just haven’t done the wedding ceremony, yet,” Carter says, flashing the two rings on her hand and giggling when she is glomped. “You have so much to fill me in on!” She gasps before her eyes trail to the host club, all of them gazing around in formation, looking like models while Ella runs over. “Momma, gotta pee!”
“This might go on for a while, Misuzu has always liked gawking at younger men doing manly things,” Carter giggles to Ella as the two watching the host club and store owner kill Haruhi of second hand embarrassment.
“Where is Switzerland?” Ella asks, sitting outside with the host club while Carter gets to explain need to to knows about her father, the mafia, twins, and anything but the detailed parts from when she was in America.
“It’s a really cold place where you go skiing and snowboarding!” Honey exclaims and Kyoya adds, “That you and Carter are not going to because your mommy is now considered at risk for long flights and would not be able to enjoy the trip. You two are staying with me,”
Honey pouts, “That’s not right, Kyo-chan! Ella is coming with us, Carter said so!” the statement has Ella cheering and Kyoya grimacing while Mori nods and begins to entertain his daughter. “But Karuizawa seems much more fun than Switzerland,” Honey begins reasoning as Carter and Misuzu walk out with big grins from their catchup conversation, instantly being bombarded by the hostclub all wanting to stay at the B&B.
After the whole, “contest for the room” is put in place, Carter chuckles, “You all have fun with that, I’m going to go eat lunch and then take a nap,” Haruhi nods and glares at the club before grabbing her friends hand, giving her some lunch and leading Carter to her own bedroom so there wouldn’t be too much to clean- the only rule being that Snail wasn’t allowed to take the nap with her on the bed.
After a while, Carter wakes up and walks down to the back porch, leaning against the door while listening to the twins and Haruhi talk about the sibling bond Hikaru and Kaoru share. “You two are weird,” Carter huffs when they offer Haruhi a spot in their bed. “Hey, we let you in our bed, too!” They yell and she laughs.
“That’s because I’m your sister and you love me, so you know I need cuddles to help me stay asleep,” She says, walking down the stairs, eye instantly twitching as Tamaki proudly shows off his mess of a fence.
“I want to fix it,” She grumbles, shaking her head when Snail barks at the fence and pees on it with a big grin. “How can you fix it if you’re wet?” She hears Kaoru yell and turns around, getting hit directly in the face with the spray setting of a hose. “No!” She squeals, attempting to run away, but ending up sliding on the grass and landing on her butt while doing the splits, leaning back on her hands with a huff as she glares at the culprits.
“That was cold,” She whines while the twins make an innuendo about a watermelon to make the residents swoon. Kyoya was the first to see the girl soaked and splayed out on the grass, mainly because Snail came to get him.
“The twins attacked and abandoned,” Carter states when a shadow covers her face, removing the warming sunlight. “Bet you’re hoping for girls, then,” Kyoya chuckles, squatting down and assisting her in standing up. “Not sure, boys are mischievous, but girls can be evil,”
“They won, just like that?” Carter questions, knowing it was staged. “You know us too well,” The twins smirk, wrapping their arms over Haruhi’s shoulders while winking at Carter. “I’m still mad you didn’t get points docked for spraying the pregnant girl with a hose and leaving her outside,” Carter grumbles, nestling into one of Misuzu’s sweaters and a pair of cotton shorts the cousin had made for her in less than a half hour.
“We knew you were fine, what’s the big deal?” Haruhi is very quick to notice the death glare. The twins were lucky that Ella fell asleep in Carter's lap during Tamaki’s performance.
“I can always let Snail know that you’re mean to me… or uncle Fuji,” Carter says and the twins take off in hope of surviving while Takashi makes his way over, sitting next to his wife, “Haven’t seen you all day, enjoying being a handyman?” Carter says, grabbing his hand and leaning into the forehead kiss.
“It was fun, fixed a fence,” He chuckles and Carter sighs in relief, “I thought I was going to have to do that,” She says and he laughs, scooching closer so she can lay on his shoulder. Carter eventually falls asleep, and Mori sits there for a while until Kyoya comes over, “I’ll grab Ella, the car is already waiting for us,”
Honey joins them with a yawn and the three males climb into the limo with the girls and Snail, but it doesn't get the chance to drive away before someone knocks on the window. When Mori and Kyoya rolled it down, they were shocked to see Misuzu with a serious expression.
“You boys take care of my girl, do you hear me?” He growls and Mori and Kyoya quickly nod. “If you need her family medical history, I have access to her moms’ side and I can get access to her fathers’ side. I’m going to let her aunt and two cousins know that she is alive tonight and I’ll let you know if they’re coming down to visit her here this week or not,” With that, Misuzu backs away and goes back inside.
“Carter has an aunt?” Honey asks and Kyoya and Mori nod. “Her mother's elder half sister, the two sharing a dad. The aunt having been in an abusive relationship that kept the sisters from seeing each other until the funeral for Carter's mother. After the husband doesn't let her aunt go to it, he was divorced and jailed for abuse. The youngest from that marriage is actually the one Misuzu dated until the cousin broke it off to go overdose in Guam,” Kyoya explains and Mori shrugs, “She talks about her cousins a lot. The three you’re mentioning, Carter only really knew the middle one, the youngest and eldest were never around on the rare visits,”
“What other cousins are there?” Honey asks and Takashi sighs, “She cut ties with the living ones on her fathers side before her mom died, the ones that hadn’t already cut them off. But her moms mom was the second eldest of six sisters. The youngest, murdered before Carter was born. But all of the other ones had two kids each. Carter doesn’t remember meeting most of the cousins, the brothers avoided family and made new ones, the sisters did the same. Her uncle went off the map after a bad breakup, one brother sister set was the sister being unknown and secretive while the brother was in the military. Other brother sister set, brother died early twenties and the sister was Carter's favourite person for a long time. Don’t know why, though,”
“I’ll look into the favourite cousin and uncle,” Kyoya says and the three nod, sitting in silence until Carter wakes up with a gasp shooting up on the seat and panting. As soon as she lands eyes on Ella and her hand on her stomach, she takes a deep breath, leaning into Takashi’s awaiting arms.
“Hormone nightmare?”
“Hormone nightmare.”
