Lana Del Rey - Without You
I swallowed the lump that had somehow found its way in my throat and forced a smile. Even though I knew I had to meet all the other maids and whatnot at some point, I wasn't ready.
A group of about ten people stared back at me and, really, the moment was stretching out to be more awkward than me walking into Bruna seducing Neymar.
The silence in the room was filling the air, and I avoided eye contact as they all studied me like some sort of insect. Just as I was contemplating running out of the room, Beatriz, bless her, spoke up.
"Say hi to Liliana, everyone! She'll be joining us tomorrow." She walked over to me and placed two hands on my shoulders, and led me over to the people.
A middle-aged man, his hair balding and eyes kind, held out his hand to me.
"My name is Antonio, and you can be sure you will fit right in!"
I was barely allowed to breathe before I was whisked off to meet another person, and by the end of it I realised that along with Beatriz and me, there was only one other girl.
How odd.
Her name was Ana and she was around the same age as me, her black hair tied back in a bun and her brown eyes twinkling. I guess she seemed nice.
Ana walked towards me with a huge smile on her round face. "You and I will make great friends, Liliana!" I gave her a grateful smile and relaxed- this wasn't nearly as hard as I'd made it out to be.
Beatriz then ushered me over to the other end of the room, where she sat me down. She gave me a quick smile and began. "Liliana, I didn't tell you before but, every person that works for Neymar has to be interviewed by him himself."
My eyes widened.
"Now, you already have the job, of course, but Neymar likes to meet everyone to know them on a better, more personal basis."
I almost scoffed. I'd seen too many personal things already.
"He'll be waiting for you in half an hour in the office room upstairs." She stood up, with an apologetic smile. "Sorry for the short notice, Liliana. I'll let you get ready now. Your uniforms been placed on your bed."
After saying my goodbyes to everyone, and also after receiving a few kisses on my face, I made my way back up to the bedroom, this time careful not to get lost.
I paused a moment again to take in the view, scared this was some type of dream and I'd wake up and nothing like this would ever exist for a person like me.Sure enough, just as Beatriz had said, my uniform lie neatly awaiting me. I picked up the black dress, laughing to myself at the generic maid uniform. At least it wasn't short and slutty. It fell below my knees, and I paired it with a pair of black tights. The dress was long sleeved, and I was grateful for that as it covered the small amount of tattoos scattered over my arms.
I made my way to the mirror, smoothing back my hair from my face. After braiding it, I contemplated putting on make up.
Would I see desperate in front of Neymar? Would he think I was trying to pull him, or something equally disturbing as that? I shook these negative thoughts out of my head and decided against wearing it.
My eyes, once again, seemed bigger than normal. I sighed. Maybe a little lipstick wouldn't hurt. Just as I'd reached my favourite light one, I heard a noise.
I stilled. I walked closer to the bathroom, where the noise seemed to be coming from, and thought this over. Don't tell me Neymar and his lover had decided to do the dirty in my bathroom. I would never use it again if so. However, if it was an intruder, then I was seriously under prepared with only a lipstick.
But-
No, Liliana. It wouldn't be Neymar and his charming girlfriend making out in the bathroom.
I shot open the door, and saw a little blonde child spraying water at his reflection. He squealed when he saw me, and turned to spray the water on me, all over the front of my dress.
What did Beatriz say his name was again?"Davi!"
He giggled, his cute little smile widening as he ran out of the bathroom and jumped onto my bed. I walked over to the kid and picked him up.
"Sorry, miss Liliana." He said, his eyes widening.
"Hey, don't be sorry, it's okay." I soothed him and he laughed once again before rubbing his wet hands over my face. I put him down after that, and he was more than happy to hold my hand instead.
"I'm so so hungry." He suddenly announced, a pout on his face. I set him down and he grabbed my hand as he led me to the kitchen downstairs.
Neymar could wait, couldn't he?
Davi hoisted himself onto one of the kitchen chairs, and I was surprised to find it was only the two of us in there. Everyone must have been working.
"What do you want to eat, Davi?" I asked, searching the contents of the large fridge. I would not go hungry here, that was for sure.
"Anything! Can I help you cook, please?" There it was again, the adorable innocent look that no one could say no to.
Even before I'd said yes, he jumped down and had given me a quick hug and I was reminded of my little siblings back home. I stood there for a moment, lost in my memories of my childhood, before Davi tugged on the edge of my dress and brought me back into the present.
"What do I do?" He asked, his brow furrowed.
"First, wash your hands." I picked him up and led him over to the sink, and made sure he didn't spray me this time.
I decided on making a simple sandwich for him, with chicken and salad. Davi was currently telling me of the time he'd gone to his father's football training and was allowed to train with him.
Just as I sat Davi down and was about to make my own, I heard a deep voice from behind me.
"I'll have some of that too." I turned to find Neymar Jr watching Davi and I with a small smile on his face.
"Um- I- okay." God, why did I have to stutter in front of him?
He sat in the chair next to Davi and I'd have to be an idiot not to notice how much love he looked at his son with.
I quickly prepared him his sandwich. As I placed it in front of him, Davi suddenly pointed at me.
" Papa, look what I did to Liliana's dress!"
Neymar looked over at my shirt and my cheeks flamed and his eyes widened and I'd never been more thankful for having a small chest. He cleared his throat as I covered my chest with my arms.
"Um." Neymar began, his voice slightly rough, and his cheeks may have been slightly pink. He cleared his throat. "Liliana, you were meant to see me," he glanced at his watch. "Thirty five minutes ago."
Shít. "I'm so sorry, sir, I found Davi in my room and he told me he was hungry so I made him food and I totally forgot about you but-"
I realised I was blabbering when I saw Neymar's little smirk. I blushed again.
"It's okay. I'm free now. The others will clear this up, you come with me." He stood up and stretched his arms above his head and I looked away as a sliver of his tanned stomach showed. Davi held out his arms to his father and he gladly picked him up.
It was such an adorable sight. After a quick kiss to Davi's cheek, he set him down and whispered something in his ear. Davi's whole face widened as he squealed and ran out.
Neymar then turned to me. He smiled. "Come to my office."
And with that he was gone, and I was following him.
