It was a long night. The storm was loud and strong. Several groups of people screamed a lot. Each time I jumped a little. Alec kept muttering for a while until he finally fell asleep. I fell asleep around four. It was a deep but short sleep. No dreams, a little peaceful. Until Felix woke me up for breakfast. His eyes were red from lack of sleep and his hair disheveled.
"We're going to eat in 20," Felix said quietly.
"Okay...when did you go to sleep?" I whispered.
"I didn't really," He yawned.
"Oh, when did Grace fall asleep?" I asked, stretching.
"4:30?" Felix guessed.I smiled and got up. Then I grabbed my black hoodie and grey pants. I walked to the bathroom and took a quick shower. Once I dried off and slipped into my clothes, I looked in the mirror. My hair was still wet so I put it up. I looked smaller. Not in weight really but just small. My once bright green eyes looked dull. Ugh.
I walked out of the bathroom and sat back down on the bed. Everyone was up now. Felix sat down across from me. He smiled a little and I smiled back. Once everyone was ready, we all walked out together. Felix and I in front. Grace and Alec walked behind us. Alec hadn't said much since he'd gotten back. He mainly just mumbled to Grace. She hadn't said anything either.
We walked into the dinning hall and went back to the kitchen. The woman behind the counter smiled at us.
"What can I get you?" she asked sweetly.
"Just the biscuit and bacon," I said looking down at the cardboard colored food. She put two biscuits and two pieces of bacon on a plate. When she handed me the plate, I waited for everyone else. Once everyone had food, we walked out of the kitchen and to a table by the window. I sat next to the window across from Grace. Felix sat next to me and Alec was next to Grace. For awhile we ate in silence.
"Aren't we a fun group of individuals," I laughed a little.
Everyone smiled.
"What was the best thing you've ever eaten for breakfast?" Felix asked us.
"New York pizza," Grace grinned.
"Baked cheesecake," I smiled, dreaming of cheesecake.
"French toast," Alec said, finally cracking a smile.
"A hot stack of pancakes," Felix sighed happily.
