The girl girl approached the fed ex envelope and shined her flashlight and read the words as she picked it up. Bird? She headed back over to the door at put the envelope out of the hole "accidentally" hitting JJ. She would've said sorry except considering the fact he sent her flying in the crypt she didn't. JJ grabbed her hand as he pulled her out sending them both falling over Esperanza landing on top of JJ.
"If you wanted (me) to be on top you could've just asked (little wolf)" They said at the same time. Esperanza scoffed and rolled off before walked over to rest of them.
"Well that's not gold" Pope said.
"Thanks for that evaluation sherlock holmes."
"Holy shit" Kiara whispered.
"This is from my dad" John b says breathing out.
"Code red. Code red. Square groupers! Square groupers! It's the guys who robbed your house." JJ said rushing them to get behind the crypt and forcing them to shut our lights. After talking for it for a couple seconds Esperanza did the most reckless thing shes ever done.
"Screw this" She said before running to the gate, JJ being the first to follow, and jumped it watching as the other doing the same before she turns back only to be stopped by Pope.
"Guys! Im stuck" Pope called out to them making Esperanza stop and turn and look at Pope.
"Shit Pope" she said throwing her hand up.
"No. Pope, don't move okay?" JJ said pointing the gun at Pope.
"Put the damn gun down JJ" Esperanza said running up to him and putting his arm down as she smacked him in the head.
"Ow you bitch I'm trying to help him" JJ said trying to defend himself.
"Ay! Bitch?" She asked in faux shock. "You called me a bitch? Rude!" She chuckled and smacked his arm.
Esperanza turned around she saw Pope running towards them in his boxers. She looked up at the fence to see her friends pants ripped off and stuck to the fence. The group laughed at Pope as he started running to the van.
"It's a little tootsie roll" JJ yelled as he was running causing Esperanza to laugh even harder.
Esperanza was already in the driver seat as she pulled up to the rest of the pogues. "Get in" she called out to them as they all jumped in and she sped off to John B's house.

"That Bread had mold on it three days ago" Pope said as JJ was making him and Esperanza sandwiches.
"I'll just pull the bad parts off. Plus mold is good for you. Its just a natural organism" JJ said as he finished up and handed one to Esperanza. Not hearing the conversation the boys just had she put the bread in her mouth as JJ did the same. The two immediately gagging Esperanza ran to the trashcan to spit it out. After she was done she slapped JJ on his head making the boy gasp. Of course. He slapped her back and the two ran around smacking each other as they laughed before Kiara yelled at them and they came to see John B holding a tape recorder and a map on the table.
"What's that?" JJ asks earning a look of pure stupidity from Esperanza.
"It's a tape recorder" Esperanza said lightly but firmly,"dumbass"

"Who's bird?" JJ asked quietly.
"That's what my dad called me" John B said as JJ nodded.
"Stop asking so many questions and just listen to it JJ." Esperanza said in a soft groan.
I hate to say, "I told you so," but I told you so. And you doubted your old man. I suspect at this moment, you're filled with guilt and self-loathing over our last fight, but don't kill yourself just yet, kid. I didn't expect to find the Merchant either. You were probably right to call me out. Wasn't exactly Father of the Decade. What can I say, kid? I could smell the barn. And hopefully, we're listenin' to this in our brand new sugar-shack down in Costa Rica, livin' off passive investments and pulling on permits. If not, and you find this for less than optimal reasons, well, that's what the map is for. There she is, the wreck of the Merchant. If somethin' happens to me, finish what I started. The last words his dad ever spoke to him. At this point Esperanza couldn't stop the tears streaming down her face. And John B just gor up and walked to the doorway JJ tried making the situation better by saying big John did it but Kiara shushed him as Esperanza got up to go hug him. She wrapped her arms around his waist and put her head under his arm in a comforting way. She could hear his sobs as he turned back around to hug her. Esperanza stood up on her tippy toes and hugged him tightly while rubbing his back.

The group of kids were now sitting on the docks and sitting in silence when JJ spoke out.
"How much was it again?" JJ speaks breaking the silent.
"Four hundred mill" John b said.
The group started arguing about protection and the split when they decided on eighty mill each. Pope is paying for college and text books. Kiara is gonna make a double album.
"What about you J?" Esperanza says looking up towards JJ as she laid in his lap.
"I'm gonna get a big ass house on Figure Eight and go full Kook" JJ said looking down at her. Making her laugh.
"You're gonna go full kook" she asked while laughing at her.
"yup, Gonna get a marble statue of myself, and then I'm gonna get a koi pond. Put a bunch of those fish. Just me. No parents. Parents suck. You can come though" he said finishing up and smiling at the girl.
"I'm never visiting" Kiara said while laughing.
"Baby?" JJ said, poking Esperanza's side.
"Im gonna save it for when i have kids. Let them grow up with the life I always wanted. Maybe go to UCLA or Berkeley. Preferably Duke because it's closest." She smiled weakly. "What about you, JB?" the girl asked John B. He was silent for a few seconds before finally speaking.
"To going full kook" he said holding his beer up.
"To going full kook" everyone said doing the same as John B.
The group sat at the docks for a few more hours laughing with each other. Disregarding the bad news and had one of the best nights they would have for that summer.
"Hey John B?" Esperanza asked suddenly. He turned and looked at her. "what did your dad mean by that part about me and JJ? I was dating Rafe then." She said confusedly.
"He hated Rafe." John B said simply.
"Okay we all hated Rafe." she rolled her eyes.
"Except you." JJ said, unable to hide his animosity to the fact.
"I hate him now, okay." She said leaning into him. She turned to look at John B who was already looking at her. "Welcome to the dead dad club John B. It sucks but we got a good sense of humor."
John B shook his head with a smile.
