My phone rang as I rushed off the bus to get to my shift. I glanced down to see my best friend's name before I clicked answer.

"Hi Jas!" I exclaimed.

"Hey Izzy, so I was thinking, do you wanna like do something?"

"Yeah, totally! I'm up for anything!" I responded immediately.

"Oh really? Do you wanna rob a bank?"

"Yeah totes! Oh wait... no"

"You should really stop agreeing to things before you know what they are, Iz. So anyway the zoo? Saturday afternoon?"

"I think I've got work at the cafe on Saturday until 3"

"Awww, okay. Sunday then?"

"Sounds great! Look I've got to go, the other day Luka came in three minutes late and on the phone and Mr Krabs totally beat him up about it."

"Well we wouldn't want you to be late to the Krusty Krab now would we?" Jas laughed.

"I'll have you know the Kromwell is a Michelin star restaurant beloved around the world for its exquisite seafood dishes." I joked.

"Yeah sure whatever, bye, have fun!"

The dial tone sounded and I put my phone back into my coat pocket. Quickly I crossed the street and ducked through the backdoor into the staff locker room. Luka was inside and greeted me when I arrived.

"Careful, Belles, Mr Krabs is feeling particulary crabby today"

"I'll be sure to watch out then, thanks for the warning." I spoke as I extracted my uniform from the locker and turned around to change.

Luka turned his back to me and started discussing the multiple benefits of using truffle oil over olive oil, so I zoned out. When I was changed I spun around and checked the time on the wall clock, it was 4:52 I still had a few minutes before I was due on the floor so I took a moment to sit down and check my phone. I had a text from my younger sister Sophie, apparently cheer practice was finished early so she'd gone for ice cream with the rest of the squad. I smiled, I had a feeling team spirit was not the only motivation for her recent increase in ice cream trips; Dylan Cooper seemed to share her sweet tooth, and as much as Sophie like ice cream she liked him more. I sent a quick reply to her reminding her that it was her night to cook but that I'd be home late because I took an extra shift. I put my phone in my locker just before my beloved manager entered.

"Ah Isabelle, you're here, perfect timing. The Maxwells are booked in for tonight at 5:30, you're the only waitress aside from Katie that they don't hate so you'll be watching their table."

"Okay, I'll head out to the floor in a minute, Mr Crawford." I gave him my best customer service smile and he nodded once before bustling out in pursuit of some other poor soul.

"Why does Mr Krabs always treat you nicely?" Luka whined.

"Because I'm an angel and perfect in every way, shape, and form!" I grinned as I did a dramatic twirl out of the room.

"You're literally the worst!" He shouted after me.

I was laughing when I reached the floor. The hustle of the restaurant rapidly swept me up as I darted from table to table conversing and filling water glasses and later bringing plates of food and my comments on the dessert menu. It was 8:00 and my break the next time I had a moment to breathe.

"Isabelle! Just the girl I've been looking for." Mr Crawford announced as he entered the locker room. I held back a grimace and put my fork down.

"Mr Crawford, hi!"
