A/N: I'm going to include some screenshots of the Haikyuu!! manga. I do not own any of these pictures includes above. Enjoy the reading!!

"Aw come on!! I was so close to passing, 48!"

"Haha!! You weren't even close man! Good luck when you get home, your mom will beat you..."

"Yay! I passed with high marks in 37th place with a score of 89- Let's go get fried chicken after class!"

Huff. Puff. Huff.

"Excuse me!" I gently squirm through the crowd in front of the student council bulletin board, to check my midterm scores. "Let's see, Shimizu Yumi, Shimizu Yumi, Shimi- ah!"

My finger lay on 1st: Shimizu Yumi - 99

"Awh come on I didn't get 100?" I stumble out of the hallway, bumping into a strong, tall figure.

"Sorry!" I exclaim while looking down, avoiding as much eye contact as I could. The last thing I heard was a grunt from the person I bumped into.

"Heya Yumi-chan!!" My childhood friend Sakura shakes my shoulders. "How'd ya do? I bet you passed with full marks..." Sakura sighs and rests her forehead on my chest.

"Actually no, I missed one point. I'm actually going to see what I did wrong with Takahashi Sensei- Oh how did you do Sakura?" I lift her head up by her chin.

"Oh Yumi-chan..." Tears ball up at the ends of her eyes. "I passed with an 87- I was so happy I started bawling on the spot!" Sakura wipes her eyes.

"Well I did notice your eyes all poofed up when I first saw you. Good job! Isn't that your first exam that was over 60?" I fail to cheer her up.

"Oh Yumi-chan you're a big meanie," She playfully pushes me off. "I'm not that dumb." We both playfully laugh, teasing each other.

Sakura was a cheerful girl, standing at an adorable  5'4" at the age of 17. She was a small girl with a round face, making others think that I was her older sister.

My name is Shimizu Yumi. I am a 5'10" 17-year old that strives to be the very best in studies. Sakura and I are in Shiratorizawa's Girls Volleyball Club, her being the libero and me being a wing spiker.

We both spend a lot of time studying and with sports, more studying for me and practicing tosses for Sakura, but together we work just as hard as anybody else.

"It's Friday! We need a break Yumi-chan~ Oh!! I know tomorrow is going to be freakishly hot- do you want to go to the beach?" Sakura claims with excitement. "We can invite the girls from the team to come!"

I flinch. "Sakura what if-"

Sakura softens her facial expression and stares at me with sympathy. "I'll do my best to make sure they don't invite any boys from the team over either."

Since last year, I've always been wary and scared of boys. Voluntarily talking to them was a rare sight to see from me.

Sakura-chan is the only person that knows about my fear. It's nothing serious, but I'd rather enjoy my free time around females, not bickering, annoying boys.

"That's fine Sakura. You deserve it. The ladies deserve it." I chuckle, tucking my light brown hair behind my ear. "Let's head over to the gym to see how the other girls did."

As one of the four 3rd years on the team, I'm team captain, and I make sure my "children" are in perfect condition. Whether it is mentally or physically, I make sure everyone on the team is ready for anything. Especially midterms.
