(Blue's POV)
Newt and I stayed by the tree. "Look," Newt pointed up to the sky, "Beautiful, isn't it?" I looked up, the stars shone so brightly, "Newt," He hummed in response, "Will we get out, do you think?" He looked over to me. There was a short silence, "To be honest, Blue. I don't know." my eyes started to feel heavy, "Newt," I yawned, "I'm really tiered." I lent my head on his shoulder. My mind started to swim, I only just caught his words, "Night then, love." the comforting blanket of sleep over came me and I plummeted into darkness.
Images started to flit in front of me, 'Dreams, or memories?' I thought. Suddenly, one started to play.
**I was looking at a younger version of myself, I was staring through a glass window. My face showed pure anger and terror. I was looking at an array of people lay on beds, unconscious. I was pounding the glass screaming, I guess insults. Why was I so angry? 5 people in white lab coats walked into the room. That's when I saw it. Lying side by side in two beds where Newt and Minho. Myself in the dream slid down the side of the glass as the scientist started to work on them, with metal tubes and knives.**
I feel my shoulders being shaken, "Blue!" They shouted, "It's a dream, Blue!" I sat up with a start, breathing heavily, to see a pair of brown eyes at mine. "It's a dream, Blue." He whispered this time. I leaned by against the tree, Newt looked down sorrowfully at me. I wiped the sweat off my brow, "Sorry." I mumbled, Newt plonked down next to me, "Don't worry about it," He sighed and looked over at me, "You only woke up half the glade. You wanna talk about it?" He asked, I shook my head, "Not yet." I whispered. He gave a half smile. Suddenly, loud screeching if stone against stone filled the air. I looked over to Newt, panicked. He gave me a little laugh and said, "You missed it last night, sleepy head, didn't you?" The blank expression on my face said more than words could. Newt cracked up and looked over at the moving walls, "They close every night, open every morning." He raised his voice over the ear piecing sound, "They keep us safe." All the questions that had been circling around in my head, erupted. "What's out there? Who did this to us? Why am I the only girl? Why can't I remember? I'm so confused." A loud bang filled the air as the doors opened. I looked over to the boy sitting next to me with pleading eyes, he looked back,"Okay calm down there, number 1, we call 'em grievers-"
"What are they?" I interrupted.
"Right," He rubbed the back if his neck, "They are what the 'creators' made." He made quotation marks around 'creators' I looked blankly at him, he sighed, "Basically, you don't wanna meet one. Okay?" I nodded, he continued, "Number 2, those shuck creators, but basically, we don't know. Number 3, not a clue, and finally, because 'they' did it, so we don't remember how to escape, I guess." He gave a weak smile, so I tried to change the subject, "So, why do they run the maze?" I gestured over to my brother and the group of boys readying to run. "To find a way out." He simply shrugged. I stood up and brushed the dirt off my trousers, "Where are you going?" Newt asked.
"To see Minho!" I shouted over my shoulder.
I walked up to my big brother, "Hey look! It's the girl!"
"How's lover boy?"
"Shut up shanks!" Minho shouted to the group of runners.
