What is that... lavender?

Oh goodness, lavender.

And my skin. It's on fire.

Naturally, I find myself nuzzling closer into the heavenly smell and feeling. Earth pillows are amazing.

Wait.

Did this pillow just move?

I hold whatever is in my arms tighter, it curving against my chest. Well this is interesting.

Opening my eyes hesitantly, I'm met with darkness; I pull away to discover a neck and auburn hair.

Nope. Not a pillow.

The girl stirs again and I find a familiar excruciating pain before everything blacks out.

"Brother!"

I jolt awake, seeing a very angry Maggie.

And then she slaps me. "Where in the Valley of the Moons were you?" She shouts.

"World."

Hesitating, she shoots me a glare of confusion. "Huh?"

"The expression here is, 'where in the world were you'."

There is another slap. "Nevermind what they say here, Brother! Where were you?"

"I-I don't know..."

"Brother..."

"I can't remember a thing."

Lie.

I remember her.

Day Dreamer.

It was her, no doubt. But why?

Gosh... even the thought of her makes my chest feel weird... what is this?

"Did you... shift?" Maggie asks in a hushed tone.

"Maybe; I didn't think we could do that here."

"You do not remember anything?"

"Only the pain of shifting..."

Maggie groans. "Maybe our lycan's roam free on this land? They are in their own control?"

I shrug. "I dunno."

Slap number three. "Work with me, Brother. You could have been seen."

My gut plummets. What if someone saw the transformation? What if she saw?

Ah, the joys of being a werewolf.

"We must be careful! If Alpha Roman heard..."

"I know. I'm sorry, Maggie."

"Mother and father would be disappointed."

I nod with a sigh when my sister engulfs me in a hug. "Do not leave me again. You are all I have."

"Don't worry." I reassure her.

But then the most amazing smell enters my nose as the restaurant door opens and my gut explodes.

Lavender.
