We heard that my grandmother has been hospitalized.So,we decided to go and visit.
When I walked out of the car,I saw a small building,with nurses outside taking care of some patients.I heard a person call me,"Rino?Is that you? My! you've grown big!"It was Ms.Kajima.A nurse at this very,very small hospital.
"You came to see your grandmother eh? Well you remembered her room number right? Why don't you go see her?"She said."Okay.I will"I smiled and walked into the hospital.
"Let's see..The corner at the far end.."I looked around the doors and saw the right number.
I quickly opened the door.
I didn't saw my grandmother.What I saw was a girl with pale blue eyes and a long black hair looking at the window.
"Huh?"She turned to me and said,"W..Who are you?"
"I'm..I'm sorry I guess I went to a wrong room..I was supposed to visit my grandmother."I replied to her.
"Grandmother? You mean Mrs.Hibiki?"She asked me.
"Well..Yeah,I'm her grandson,Rino."I replied.
"Eh?! You're Rino? Mrs.Hibiki told me alot about you!"She walked closer to me then held my hand and said,"I'll show you to her room."
We walked to the left and saw a door at the end of the corner,When we arrived infront of the door she suddenly said,"Actually,This was my old room.We have to exchange rooms.Since,she always continues drinking alcohol when the nurses are not around."She laughed.She let go of my hand and then,stammered."Oh! S..Sorry."
I knocked the door.I waited for someone to opened it but,none.I knocked again then noticed that the door is open.
I turned the knob then pushed it forward.
I saw bottles of alcohol and my grandmother lying at the floor."Geez..Not again grandma!"I shouted.
She opened her eyes and said,"R-Rino"She smiled then said,"Give me more alcohoool~"
Grandma was drunk.Again.The girl whispered to me then said,"I'll call a nurse,okay?" "Okay." I replied.
When the nurse was there,she put grandma back to her bed.She took the bottles of alcohol away."Hmn..Mrs.Hibiki is always like this."She laughed.I smiled.
We let grandma sleep.I decided to come back to her later.
As we walked down the hallway,The girl said,"Oh! I haven't introduced my self.My name is Miyuki,Miyuki Tachibana."
Before I could say something she added,"I've been here for a couple of years..Due to my sickness.."
"I'm..I'm sorry."I patted her shoulder.
"It's fine." She smiled at me."Everyone here is nice."
We continued visiting the hospital for a couple of days.I would always visit Miyuki and talk.
"Hey,I was wondering..You're always looking at the window.Why?"I asked.
"Oh..Well,You see that wall?" She pointed a wall with no paintings or any marks."I've always wanted to paint something on that wall.."She said.
I stood up and said,"I'll be going outside for a while."
"Okay,Take care."She smiled at me.I closed the door then went outside the hospital.
I decided to buy her some paint.
"Rino? What's in those plastic bags?"Mom asked me.
"Oh..Paint."I replied.
"Really?For who?"She asked me again.
"For a friend." I replied.
Mom smiled at me.
"I better give this early.Bye,Mom."I walked away.
When I was infront of Miyuki's door,I opened it slightly and saw her coughing blood.
"Man.."She wiped off some blood from her mouth.I remained silent and closed the door.I ran away quickly,leaving the paint in front of the door.
"Huh?"Miyuki opened the door.She saw plastic bags with two buckets of paint each."Rino.."she smiled.
I was at seating at a bench,I remained quiet.I heard someone say,"Rino,I want to see you at that place."
It was Miyuki.
"What place?" I asked."Dummy! The wall,of course."She replied while smiling."Quarter to 6:00 PM."She quickly ran back to her room.
My mother called me and said,"Rino,we're going to leave tomorrow okay?" "Tomorrow?"I asked her."Yes."She replied."You might have a lot of missed activities in school.." She added."O..Okay.."I replied to her.
It was almost 6:00 PM.I went to the place where i'm supposed to meet Miyuki.
"It's time to go meet her."I walked.It was not that far from the hospital.
When I arrived,I first saw was four opened buckets of paint.
"Hello?" I walked infront of the wall and what I saw a beautiful painting.
Miyuki walked near me and said,"Thanks for the paint."She smiled.
"M..Miyuki,There's something I have to tell you.."I sighed."Eh? What is it?"She asked.
"M-Mom told me that we have to go home tomorrow.."I replied.
"B..But.."Tears from her eyes fell. I came close to her and hugged her.
"I'll be back.I promise."I promised her."O..Okay" She smiled.
I leaned closer to her then kissed her.
"R..Rino.." She smiled at me then hugged me again. "I..I love you.." She said.
"I love you too." I replied,smiling.
On the next day,I saw Miyuki looking through the window.I waved at her.She waved back at me while smiling.
I won't forget the things I did with Miyuki and i'll promis that i'll come back.
After a couple of years,I was 16 years old,I went back to the hospital with my family.
"Welcome back,Rino!"Ms.Kajima greeted me.
"Ms.Kajima,have you seen Miyuki?" I asked.
After hearing that,Ms.Kajima frowned.
"Miyuki..she died last year.."She replied.
"W..What?"I was shocked to hear about it.Tears from my eyes fell,I cried and cried.
Ms.Kajima patted my back and hugged me,"I'm sorry.." Ms.Kajima comforted me and I was already okay.
I went to the place where the wall was there.The painting was still there,I smiled and then I took out my camera then took a picture of it.
"I love you,Miyuki." I smiled then walked away.
