Now, when we were younger, some of us had a fear of the dark. Like, that there was a monster under our beds at night that would attack us when we slept, or that if you got out of your bed to turn off the lights off in your room, once you turned the lights off, that monster would attack you if you didn't get in bed in time. Well, what if I told you that there really was something in your bedroom in the dark. And that it was coming after you?

Now, the Paine family had just moved into their dream house, a two story house with a big back yard. There were 4 children, Marie, Phillip, Jacob, Johnny, Lauren, and a newborn baby girl Alex. Mr. Paine was a retired soldier and was the Chief of Police; and Mrs. Paine worked as an accountant for the bank. One night, as everyone was sleeping, only one was awake, little Johnny. Johnny was afraid of the dark. His parents told him that it was just his imagination getting the best of him. As he tried to sleep, little Johnny thought that he had something in his room. He then got up from his bed and ran to his parents room crying for his mom and dad.

Mr. and Mrs. Paine calmed down Johnny and helped him back to his bedroom. Little Johnny was able to go to sleep; only for a little while. Johnny woke up as he thought he heard something in his room. He closed his eyes repeating 'Its only your imagination. It's only your imagination' in his head. He finally opened his eyes but he was not prepared for what he was about to see. There, in the corner of his room, he saw a dark figure. He was tall and had a black, misty look to him. Little Johnny was so afraid that he began to studder

"I-I-I-It's the S-S-Shadow M-Man"

Then, the Shadow Man leaped towards little Johnny.

Morning came. As everyone was in the kitchen, getting ready to have breakfast, little Johnny didn't come down from his room. Mrs. Paine went up to Johnny's room to check on him. What was really strange was that when Mrs. Paine was comming towards Johnny's room, his door was open. He never left his door open when he left his bedroom. Mrs. Paine slowly stepped inside his bedroom, only to find little Johnny's bedsheets and pillow shredded up into bits. Mrs. Paine turned towards the closet and slowly walked towards it. She slowly opened it and there was little Johnny, and his blood covering the walls. Mrs. Paine let out a shriek as she saw the words

"It was the Shadow Man" written in blue crayon by little Johnny as he was taking his last breaths before being slaughtered by the Shadow Man.

The Shadow Man is still out there, looking for it's next victims. He is looking for young children who are scared of the dark. But he also can go after adults as well. So the nest time you're about to go to sleep, or afraid of the dark, remember this: The Shadow Man is always watching.

He may be behind you right now...watching you.
