I smeared the gooey chocolate over Em's face just as she throws a marshmallow at me. I squeal, and she grabs my waist, spinning me around. We end up wrestling into the living room, where we continue to play fight on the floor. The doorbell rings, and I jump up, brushing myself off. As I turned to walk away, Em piped up.

"You got chocolate on your ass." I could sense her smirk, so turned around to give her the middle finger. She laughs as I turn back to the door.

Aria and Spencer stood there, smiling when I opened the door. I had invited them over around 10 minutes ago, as me and Em had made cupcakes. We were going to have a girly day in, one of my favourite types of days.

"Come on in, and excuse the mess. Miss Fields over there decided to throw food around." I smiled, and the girls laughed. We walked into the living room, and found Emily sat on the sofa, watching a cartoon on tv.

"Em, move up." I groaned, trying to push her out of the way. She was being stubborn, and wouldn't move. So I gave up and plonked on to her lap. Emily gave out a dramatic groan, so I playfully slapped her arm. But I felt kind of uncomfortable, so I shifted into a better position. Now I was on her lap, but cuddled into her, ish.

Spencer and Aria had sat on the other sofa, and they were giving each other amused glances. I tried to ignore them, until En started playing with my hair. Usually, I'd allow this, as I secretly loved when she plaited my hair, or even ran her fingers through it. It was just the closeness, you know. Having that one friend.

"You two make such a great couple." Aria said, jokingly. Spencer let out a laugh and then tried to smolder it by pressing her hand over her mouth. I shot them a look, and they both averted their gazes.

"She's not my type." Em said, joking along with them. I tried to force a smile, but truth was that hurt. Even if I wasn't like Em, it still hurt.

So it wasn't my fault when I got up and left a few minutes after. I didn't bother to stop and explain anything. I got up to my room, and dived on to my bed face first. I could feel a few tears falling down my cheeks, which hit the pillow.

That's when the door closed. I felt the bed dip, and arms wrap around me. Then someone snuggled beside me, their nose touching my cheek.

"You're entirely my type. I just couldn't tell them that." Em whispered into my ear, before pulling me up and sitting me in her lap. My head rested on her chest, and she stroked my hair. "I didn't know you cared." She continued to stroke my hair, her voice soothing me.

"I'll always care, Em."

"But I didn't think you were like that...like me." She said, and that made me stop. I didn't think I was either.

"I don't know." I told the truth, and Em leaned back to look at me.

"One way to find out." She said before pressing her lips to mine.

I knew what was happening straight away. What was happening was that Emily was kissing me, and I was kissing her back. And it felt right. Sure, Sean had kissed me many times, and I did enjoy kissing Sean. After all, I'd been in love with him for years. But this was different. Emily's kiss was soft, gentle, but there was also something there.

Finally, it was Emily that broke away. Only because she needed air. Somehow, 5 minutes had passed in a mere 5 seconds. And I was left gasping for breath, and wanting more of the intoxicating sensation.

"Now you know." Emily whispered, before our lips reconnected.
