Around five years later....
Chapter 17
I poured some milk into my bowl of cereal. I sat at the table, staring into blank space. It was still too early in the morning for me all hyped. I could hear the shower running. Must be Kayla. Finally, she was up. I heard her come in late last night. Wonder what she had been up to. i decided to let it be. I had to get to work soon. There was some huge conference today.
Rubbing my tired eyes, I groaned. My back ached. Taking my hands away from my face, the first thing i saw was a half naked guy with a towel around his waist. I was pretty sure Kayla was not a man. I squinted at him. Is my eyesight getting bad? I rubbed my eyes again. Okay...
“You’re not Kayla,” i said carefully. I had not had coffee. There was a high possibility that it could be Kayla and i was just imagining things.
The guy chuckled and leaned against the counter. “I’m one hundred percent not Kayla.”
I frowned. “Then what the hell were you doing in my apartment?”
He grinned. “Want me to give you a detailed account?”
I made a disgusted face. I glared at him when he picked up my bowl of cereal and started eating it. Okay. I could tolerate it if Kayla brought guys home to spend the night. I could even tolerate them parading around the apartment in just small towels. But, i will not tolerate them eating my cereal. Nobody takes my food. Especially not in the morning. Jerk.
“That’s mine,” i hissed, my eyes shooting daggers at him.
“And now it’s mine,” he stated simply, giving me a cocky grin. I officially hate him now.
“Fucking bullshit, it is.” I told you, i had not had my coffee.
“That’s one dirty mouth you have there, sweetheart,” he drawled, a mischievous glint in his blue eyes. “Maybe you could-‘’
“OHGOD! SHUT UP!” i screamed at him, standing up from my chair. I walked towards Kayla’s room and knocked furiously on the door. “Kayla! Could you keep your dog on a leash?”
The guy kept his eyes on me, surveying me. I glowered at him when he gave me a cocky grin. Ugh, disgusting. What was Kayla thinking when she brought him home?
“Kayla! Open up!” i demanded.
The door flew open and Kayla stood there, hair dripping wet. She glanced behind me and saw the guy. Her face looked confused then panicked. She turned her gaze to me and flinched when she saw the thunder on my face.
“I see you guys met,” Kayla murmured, stepping out.
I folded my arms. “Get him out.”
Kayla slipped through the door and made her way to the donkey eating my cereal. I just stood there, grim and furious.
“You need to leave,” she said sternly.
He looked up at her, that stupid grin on his face. “You know you don’t want me to.”
Kayla sighed in exasperation and grabbed whatever clothes that looked like it belonged to him and shoved it at him. He stared, mouth agape. He looked ridiculous and i wanted to laugh. Kayla started to push him out of the door.
“Call me!” he shouted into the house as she slammed the door.
Turning to me, i raised my eyebrows at her. Kayla dusted her hands off and strode towards the kitchen counter. Taking out a bowl, she poured cereal and milk into it. She then, held it up to me, an apologetic smile on her face. I groaned, rolling my eyes and taking the bowl from her. She grinned.
