Chapter 1:
A contract? Was this strange mortal in front of me mad. Me an almighty god, serving this puny, disgusting thing!? That's simply barbaric. “Please?” The human says, cautiously stepping forward towards the summoning circle. I scowl at the human, attempting to walk up to it, yet the stupid barrier around my summoning circle wouldn’t let me move.
“And why do you think I would agree to a contract?” I spat, my emerald eyes taking on a bright red gleam. “B-because, the book s-said so.” The human stutters, taking another brave step forward. The book? “What book?” I dare ask, thinking about all the possible summoning books that held my name. Last time I checked, my name had been taking out of all the records long ago.
The human moved closer to the circle and started fiddling with a brown satchel that was slung over it's shoulder. “This.” It said simply. The small pale hands of the human brought an ancient brown book closer to the circle before placing it closely in front before the human scooting back away.
“Wait! This is my language. Where did you get this?!” I ask while attempting to pick up the book before hissing as my hand tried to pass through the invisible wall. Boken Sammenkalle: The book of summoning; titled in my native language of Old Norse. “This book isn't supposed to be on Midgardr!” I yell, attempting to push past the circle. “Where did you get this!?”
The human started to back away as my attempts became successful and I safely made my way out of the circle; breathing in the fresh air. “H-how?” The human asks, turning around to run. I smirk, appearing right in front of it and placing my hands on my hips. “Gotcha.” I say as I watch the human trip in surprise.
“Aren’t you supposed to help me?” The human says getting up and brushing off the non-existent dust on it's clothes. “I did summon you.”
“Yes you did. But whether or not I help you is entirely my decision.” I state, pointing a accusing finger at the puny mortal. “Do you even know who I am?” The human nods. A look of confidence masked it's face. “Loki of Asgard! I command thee to serve me!” I couldn't help but laugh at the strange little mortal girl in front of me. And as it is not my nature to turn down possible future mischief, I inquire the subject further. “First, I want to know why you summoned me. I deserve at least that much information.”
“My family.” The girl states and I sigh. I really do hate getting into family matters. But then again Odin is a whole different situation. The girl raises an eyebrow in question before she continued on. “You see. My family all has the sixth senses. And it's become a tradition; that when the children of the house turn fifteen, we have to summon a companion and go off and travel. We travel to discover, help, and learn.”
“So.. You summoned me to become your travel companion?” I question, raising an eyebrow in disbelief. “You should just find some other low leveled demon to do your bidding.” I turn to leave but the mortal grabs my hand. “Wait. Let me finish explaining.” I shake off the hand but stop moving and allow it to explain more. I have nothing to lose. That and I don't know my way back to Asgard. Plus, Heimdall and me aren't exactly on good terms.
