"Look kid, I don't have time to waste here-" Harry started but he was cut short.
"Niall, my name's Niall. Call me Niall."
Harry tilted his head to the side and looked at the lad known as Niall, astonished.
"Okay, Niall. I'm only gonna say this once so pay attention, alright?" Harry said firmly and Niall nodded.
"Look, I have a very very tight schedule, every second of my time counts. And so sitting here with you listening to your blabbing is really a waste of time. Now like I said, I don't have any job to give you. My house staff is more than enough, I don't need more workers. So I'm gonna give you some money, get yourself a cab, go back to wherever you came from and never come to my house again to waste my time. Have I made myself clear?" Harry almost growled.
He didn't wait for Niall to answer, all he did was nod to one of his many house staff to give Niall some money and stood up to go.
But before he could take two steps, Niall scrambled up from where he'd been kneeling on the carpeted floor of Harry Styles' mansion and grabbed the man's arm.
"Please I'm begging you, please. I'll do anything, anything at all. You don't even have to pay me please, all I'm asking is a roof over my head and food in my belly. I promise I'll do anything." Niall begged and Harry chanced a look at him, big mistake.
Tears were rolling down the boy's face and his face was tilted up, eyes big and blue, looking at Harry with fear and anxiety. Those eyes that were a door to the sea of Niall's emotions.
He seemed to have locked that door and tucked away all the emotions but there was one that was evident, fear.
Harry could see fear in Niall's eyes. He wanted to find out why Niall had fear in his eyes but at the same time, he didn't.
Another tear rolled down and Harry sighed.
"Why do you need to stay here? What happened to your home? Your parents? Are you running away?" Harry fired questions left and right.
"Yes, yes I'm running away. I'm running away from the pain that I have been subjected to by my foster parents. I can't take it anymore and maybe I was wrong in seeking refuge here but you are the only one I could think of, who could help me." Niall quickly said. He knew that Harry would change his mind any minute and decide not to listen to him so he tried to say as much as he could quickly.
"You are in foster care?" Harry asked and Niall nodded while wiping a tear from his face. "And you want to run away? That is illegal, you can't stay here or else I'll have to answer to the law. You don't even seem like you are legal to be on your own."
"Well, I can't stay with them anymore. I have to do this. Please take me in, if you don't, I'll just go find work somewhere, I'm not going back to them." Niall sobbed.
Harry sighed again. He took out his phone and quickly texted his assistant telling him to cancel all of his meeting for the whole day, then he pocketed his phone and turned to the crying blonde boy.
"Come with me." He said and started for the hall on his left, leading to his study.
Niall silently, followed. He didn't know if Harry was gonna take him in or not but atleast he hadn't been thrown out yet, green light, right?
Harry scanned his palm which was the way to unlock his office and when it opened, he held the door open and motioned for Niall to walk in first.
He walked in after Niall and closed it, locking it shut.
"Sit down." Harry gestured to the sofa that was on the right and Niall hesitantly sat down, eyes not leaving Harry's.
Harry took off his jacket and sat down on the coffee table, facing Niall. He had no intention of hiring Niall. The boy was practically a kid, what would he do? But he wanted to try and talk to him, man to man. Make him see the importance of life.
