CHAPTER 1
It was a warm Friday night, a beautiful brown-haired woman was walking down the empty streets, but she felt like she was being watched from every corner. As she was walking towards the local supermarket, she stepped on something. It felt like a big rock, only soft. She looked down, taking a deep breath, expecting the worse. 'Oh, it's just a wallet' she said in her mind. The wallet was a black leather very expensive wallet. It looked like it belonged to a man. She looked in the wallet, hoping that there was an ID or a phone number, but to her surprise, there were multiple cards and what looked like a fortune of money. There were two options that she could almost feel balancing in her hand. The one the most used option, but the most wrong and hurtful, to take the money, the cards and walk away. The other option was the easiest, but she might take a lot of her time looking for who it belonged to.
As she felt like she was choosing life or death, she shook as she felt a light tap on her right shoulder. She hugged the wallet, closed her eyes and looked behind, she was very vulnerable and anxious, plus she believed in ghosts, so getting tapped on the shoulder in the middle of the night, felt weird and scary to her.
-Hey, uhm that's my wallet, said a man pointing to the black leather she was hugging.
-Oh, yes I'm sorry I was going to take it to the police station, she said even though she hasn't decided yet.
-That's great, can I have it back, he asked, almost pulling it from her hands.
She held it back and looked at him raising an eyebrow,
-How do I know it's yours, stranger, she added. Tell me your card number!
-Well, he started saying lots of numbers, stopping, correcting them, until he stopped. Well, that's my card number, he smiled creepily.
The woman knew it wasn't, he had multiple cards, he should've known that! What could she do? She did the most stupid thing anyone would do, she ran.
Her hair was flying going in all the directions possible, as she ran she told herself to not look behind, but her curiosity took over, while she turned her head she was holding on to the wallet.
She saw exactly the opposite of what she expected, no one was there. It felt creepy, scary almost like he was going to jump and scare her from somewhere. She tried to make that thought run out of her head and headed home, still running, she couldn't accept the fact that he might appear from somewhere.
The moment she arrived home she locked the door and put down the blinds to every single window in her house. While she was doing that, her little fluffy dog, Lola was looking at her confused, the woman felt so embarrassed. 'I bet on 100 dollars this isn't his wallet', she said in her mind convinced.
-Oh, Lola, you must be hungry. She started pouring food into her dog's bowl. Her phone started ringing, playing a low, happy piano song. She was dancing around right before she picked up the phone.
-Give me my wallet back, Jane. said a low whispering voice.
Everything started moving slowly, she dropped the phone with a loud gasp.
The thoughts of what was going on were murmuring in her head.
'How did he know her name?', 'How did he get her number?'
Jane took the wallet and looked at it like she was holding the devil's favorite toy. All she wanted to do was throw it through the window giving it to the man telling him to let her go.
But that didn't make any sense to her. The man seemed sketchy and he had a bad attitude towards her giving him the wallet back. Her good part took over, she was going to keep the wallet safe and give it to the owner, the second she found out how to reach him. That was her plan, but did it work?
