Steven was currently teaching Onyx about Human activities. One of them being this strange thing called "Art", which was similar, if not, identical to what Blue Diamond's Pearl liked to do, which she dubbed as "Drawing". He also taught Onyx about "Video Games", a leisure activity that really didn't seem interesting to Onyx.
"Hey, Onyx." Steven addressed, "What do you like to do..?"
Onyx fiddled around with her fingers quietly before answering, "W-Well, I like to write poetry, but really, it's nothing special."
"Can I see some of your work?"
Before Onyx could reply, they heard the warp pad go off as the Gems returned to the Crystal Temple, each of them had a serious look on their face.
"Hey guys! Welcome back!" Steven waved to his friends.
"Steven, Onyx, the Earth is in big trouble..." Garnet said.
Onyx panicked a little, "Why..? Is it Homeworld..?"
"Sort of." Garnet replied vaguely.
"It might have something to do with Peridot. She's a Homeworld gem we've been suspicious of before you came to us." Pearl explained.
Onyx's eyes went wide. Finally, a gem other than Pearl she knew.
"Oh! Peridots are Homeworld Technicians!" Onyx responded, excited she could finally be helpful in the real way.
"We know that, dude." Amethyst said, "We kinda saw her in one of the Earth Kindergartens messing around with some fancy looking tech."
"Amethyst! Don't be rude!" Pearl scolded.
"O-Oh... I see..." Onyx stared at the ground quietly.
"We'd like you two to come with us so you can see this." Garnet said.
Steven and Onyx exchanged glances before following the Crystal Gems onto the Warp Pad. This was actually Onyx's first time utilizing a Galaxy Warp. The tingly feeling of the light zapping her through the very fabric of space-time felt kind of weird. When the light finally faded, Onyx and Steven immediately noticed a giant, imposing, tower-looking structure in front of them.
"What kind of place is this..?" asked Onyx.
"This is a Communication Hub." Pearl explained, "It's main purpose is for keeping Gem colonies in contact with Homeworld, but recently it's been causing electromagnetic interference..."
Steven was in complete awe of the communication tower, "Wow.... What does that mean..?"
"It means it's hurting Television." Garnet answered bluntly.
"Nooooo!!" yelled Steven, "Not television! What did it ever do to you, giant tower?!"
"What is Television..?" Onyx asked.
"No time for that right now..." Garnet responded.
"She's right, we need a carefully thought out plan to demolish this..-" Pearl began, but quickly interrupted by Garnet.
"Amethyst, fuse with me."
Onyx looked at Garnet as if she had just been shattered before her very eyes. "You mean... Cross-fusing..!?" she shrieked.
"Garnet, no! You and Amethyst can get carried away together! We need to be careful! Fuse with me instead!" Pearl pleaded. Onyx couldn't believe she was standing here, listening to this conversation.
"We don't need to be careful," Garnet replied, "what we need is to be bigger. What we need... Is Sugilite."
"Aw yeah! It's fusion time!" Amethyst shouted, running circles around Garnet with excitement. The two gems took a few steps away from Steven, Pearl, and Onyx and began to perform a fusion dance. Onyx had never seen such a strange and ridiculous custom on Homeworld.
