Day 2: After Reading through all the "New Year New Me" Posts on Facebook my family and I had to go to our family friends house for dinner. There were about seven families. Each of them had 2 or 3 children. Sally and Roxie, two of my family friends that were going to be in year 10 this year, not surprisingly wore extremely short pants, one I could almost see their "junk" coming out. Now, I don't have anything against on women clothing but this is just pathetic. Why would they not just wear normal short pants that came around your knees then close to their junks. Anyways all the 13 children were waiting for the dinner tables to be ready. By then we would be either playing cards or talking to each other. But that was 3 years ago. Now I see every single one of them on their phone playing games, talking to their friends on facebook or watching videos on Youtube and Vine. Some were taking selfies to post on their snapchat account or Instagram. Same thing happened on the dinner table, taking pictures on their phones of the food we were going to eat, taking on bite of the food and going back to chatting with friends on facebook. For once can't we just place our phones down on the dinner table? Can't we just have this time to talk to each other for the first time in 3 or 4 months? What's more surprising is that a kid that's 7 years younger then me has her own touch screen phone whilst I had my very first flip phone when I was 12. 2 years I had to earn my very first smart phone. Was technology made for this, to take away the moments we could of conserved? Has technology become more important and delicate then the real things in front of us? I could not bare the awkwardness, the silence and the noise of fingers tapping on the phone screen. The day went on until we all arrived to our own homes.
