"It's getting a little dark already. Aren't we there yet?" Addison looks outside through the car window. They are surrounded by tall trees.
"It's been almost 5 hours. And we're literally in a forest." Jessy adds while looking at Addison. They are both alarmed by the atmosphere of the place they are in.
"Yeah, I'm getting a little scared." Avie agrees.
"Don't worry girls, it's Kristoff who's driving. He knows the way, right bro?" Angelo tries reassuring his friends.
"Bro?" Angelo repeats since he didn't get any response from Kristoff. Still, he got no response. Then, he realized.
"Oh no don't tell me-" says Angelo while looking at Kristoff, bewildered. Kristoff cuts him off.
"I'm sorry." Kristoff sighs. He halts the car.
"Omg dude! Seriously!?" Jessy stresses. She's looking at Kristoff with her eyebrows knitted together.
"Oh you've gotta be kidding me." Addison harshly sits back with her arms folded across her chest. She saw Kristoff looking at her through the rear view mirror but she just rolled her eyes on him.
"I did what I should do okay? Angelo told me to just follow the trail so I just followed the trail!" Kristoff couldn't help but feel guilty. However, he still tried to explain himself.
"Ugh, seriously." Angelo mutters.
"Now what are we going to do?! We're lost! In a forest!" Jessy completely loses her cool.
"Guys don't fight, please." Avie says, attempting to calm her friends down.
"What do you mean don't fight? We're lost, Avie! Wake up!" Addison exclaims. Avie is already used to Addison's rudeness but this time, it's directed to her. Avie couldn't help but feel sad. Still, she stands her ground.
"I know! But if you guys could just calm down-"
"Now there we are again with the pep talk! We're not children anymore!" This surprised Avie. She knows that Jessy doesn't get along well with the same sex but she's nice. The fact that Jessy yelled at her while she's just trying to calm them down angered her.
"Shut up!" Avie glares at Jessy.
"Guys I'm sorry!-" everyone is losing their cool. Kristoff feels guilty and all he can do for the mean time is apologize, hoping that things would get better. However, he was interrupted by a voice.
Turn right.
The monotonic female voice from the car's system silenced everyone for a while.
"Oh I didn't know the system was activated. But I guess it would be better if we follow the directions it will give. So girls, calm down." Angelo gives them a reassuring smile. Though, he's wondering how the system could possibly give directions when he didn't set a location in his car's GPS. However, he just shakes this thought off. What's important for him at the moment is to ease the tension among the group.
"Thank goodness." The girls sigh in relief.
"I'm sorry guys." Kristoff mutters as he starts to maneuver the wheel.
"Whatever, just drive." Jessy rolls her eyes. Kristoff just looks at her through the rear view mirror, shaking his head side-to-side. She's acting like Addison, he thought.
Turn left. In 50 meters, turn right.
Everyone is silent the entire ride. They're pretty much doing their own thing: the girls are avoiding each other's gaze; Angelo is still thinking about how the system managed to give directions and is a little anxious because he can see that the directions are leading them deeper into the woods; while Kristoff still holds his guilt and he blames himself for their current situation.
Suddenly, the car stops. Everyone is looking at Kristoff, who is trying to start the car. He tried a few more times and still failed.
"What just happened?" Avie sounds concerned as she spills the words. She's being careful because she's afraid that her words might offend Kristoff. She knows that Kristoff blames himself and she doesn't want to make it worse for him.
"Why did we stop?" Addison asks, trying hard not to panic. She looks around only to see more trees surrounding them. The dark sky and the forest's atmosphere gave her an eerie vibe.
"I think the car broke down." Kristoff bites his lip while looking at his friends, feeling worried.
You have arrived at your destination.
The group stared at each other in confusion. They are all aware that they're stuck in the middle of nowhere and the car's engine failed.
"What? The car literally just broke down. How could the system still speak?" Angelo says, breaking the silence.
"Oh no. Don't tell me we've been following the wrong directions the entire time?" Jessy groans. I should've known. Ugh, she thought.
"This is all my fault." Kristoff pulls his hair in frustration. He grips the steering wheel tightly, causing his knuckles to turn white. Avie sees this so she pats Kristoff's arm.
"It is!" Addison hissed. She wants to hurt Kristoff. Though she can, she stopped herself. But she sure is mad.
"Oh here we go again." Avie mutters. She looks at her boyfriend, who is sitting in the backseat in between the girls, then flashes him a sad smile. Angelo responded with a reassuring smile.
"I'm sorry." Kristoff is now leaning his forehead against the steering wheel. He knows that everything happened by accident. But he knows that Addison is upset and it makes him feel bad. He likes her but he never confessed because he thinks that he isn't Addison's type of guy. So, he just tries his best to make her happy. That's why, the current situation is making him want to hurt himself.
"No! There is no way im going to let this one pass, Kristoff! This is all your fault!" Addison says, stomping her feet. Jessy raised an eyebrow to this. Geez, is she a kid?, Jessy thought.
"Hey thats enough. I think we had enough arguments for today." says Angelo.
"Ugh! I just can't. I don't want to be stuck here." Addison whines. Her eyebrows are knitted together and she looks like she's close to crying. Jessy is disgusted by this sight so, she speaks up.
"Drama queen. It's not like they can't try to fix the engine. Right boys?" says Jessy, turning his attention to Angelo and Kristoff, who both nodded.
"Right." Angelo responds, feeling relieved that Jessy is pretty much calm this time.
"Besides, we went in this trip to camp, right? Look outside. It says Camp Santisima." Avie adds, flashing a smile.
"Oh I didn't see that." Addison's friends felt relieved after hearing this. They're happy that she already calmed down.
"Well, I guess my mistake did something good afterall. But still, I'm sorry. Specially to you, Addison." Kristoff says, locking gazes with Addison. He flashed her an apologetic smile.
"Just go and fix the car." Addison looks away upon saying these words. Kristoff just sighed.
"Aright girls, you unpack and prepare our camping necessities while Kristoff and I try to fix the car. Okay?" Angelo feels hyped up. His excitement once again rose up.
"Okay." The girls sigh. They're a little tired but they are willing to cooperate.
"Guys, energy! We're making this trip happen! We shall surpass the hurdles!" Kristoff says while looking at Addison, trying to cheer the girls up. Or maybe it's just Addison whom he wants to smile?
"Right! Let's do this!" Avie noticed that Kristoff's gaze is locked on Addison, which she finds interesting. She looks at Jessy through the rear view mirror, who seemed to also notice Kristoff's gaze. Avie and Jessy looks at each other, sharing a teasing smile.
"Alright!" Jessy rides along.
"Okay!" Addison says, finally returning Kristoff's gaze. She smiles at Kristoff, which makes Kristoff look away since his face heated up. Angelo, Avie and Jessy laughed at Kristoff who is looking outside the car window, while Addison is clueless.
"A'ight! That's the spirit!" Angelo exclaims, still chuckling.
