the bad girl and the nerd - boy/girl

I lay in my bed, staring at my ceiling. The sun is starting to shine through my window, so I pull the blankets over my head and roll over. First day or senior year. How exciting.

After a couple minutes, my dad bangs on my door.

"Get your ass up, Margot!" he yells, and I reluctantly oblige. The way my dad acts sometimes is truly vomit-inducing. Especially when he does it while drunk.

"Fine!" I yell back as I start to stretch out my legs. The thought of going back to James Madison for another year makes my face burn.

I turn around to my closet and pick out an outfit. Today I decide to wear a Guns N' Roses tee with a leather jacket and black Docs. I put on some eyeliner and dark lipstick. Might as well put some effort in on my first day, right?

I find my bag and keys and trudge to the door, trying to avoid my dad. But, oops! I just stepped on a creaky floorboard. Oh god...

"Margot Knight! Come here before you leave!" He yells. I make my way into the kitchen and chew on a toothpick. "No trouble this year. No detentions." He says.

I laugh to myself. Like that's going to happen. I grab my keys and walk out of the door.
