Alex

So last night was crazy, but I had fun, even though that Josh guy got hurt. Even my parents enjoyed a different kind of Friday night. I roll out of my bed and walk down the stairs. Mom set food in front of me and I ate while we talked.

"Did you have fun last night?" She asks me

"Yeah, I did actually," I answer

"Can I go over after breakfast, to see if Lauren's heard anything on Josh?" I ask

"Sure," Mom tells me

Lauren

I wake up, get in the shower, and get dressed in this.

"You gonna go check on Josh?" Mack asks

"Yeah," I reply

"Tell him we're all prayin' for him," Jack speaks

"I will." I smile

Then there's a knock at the door. I sigh and open the door to reveal Alex.

"What the hell are you doing here?" I ask

"I was going to ask if you heard anything on Josh," Alex tells me

"Well I'm getting ready to go see him, wanna come with?" I ask

"Sure." He replies

"None of you are allowed to get hurt while I'm gone," I say

"Yes ma'am." They chorus

I walk out the door with Alex trailing behind me.

"So does this type of thing happen often?" Alex asks

"People getting hurt, I mean." He adds

"It's rare that people get hurt at rodeos, and even rarer to have one of our own get hurt, but people get hurt all the time at these things, and Josh always wins, but he was distracted last night," I explain

I pull into a parking spot at the hospital and kill the truck. It takes more courage than I thought it would to open the door. When I get through the doors of the hospital, I walk up to the nurse's station.

"Hey Amber," I say

"Hey Laur, you here for Josh," Amber asks me

"Yeah," I reply

"204, he's been asking for you." Amber smiles and points us in the right direction
