Chapter 7: Ombre

Me and Thalia sat on my bed in silence. Tiki was about to burst through the door any moment now to bring us to our stylists. The interviews are soon, and as always, Thalia is beyond excited.

"I'm sorry I insulted you earlier," I said. I felt terrible about calling Thalia dumb, I didn't know what had gotten into me.

"It's okay, you're just a bit nervous," then she changed the subject. "So did you think training was cool?" she asked excitedly.

"Yeah, I guess," I replied. Thalia rolled her eyes. She thinks I need to loosen up and have some fun. To be honest, I would, but right now is not the time to do that. We're in the Hunger Game for goodness sake! Personally I think she's a little too loose. Always running around like a hooligan and embarrassing herself.

Then just as I thought it, Tiki Mugs came in telling us it was time to go. As I walked down the hall I couldn't help thinking about the Games being so close. We rode down the elevator that we had ridden down so many times over the past few days and walked out to meet our stylists.

Hours later I stepped in front of a mirror to look at my outfit. I had my hair curled into nice beach waves with a clip with a deep blue highlight in it. I also admired the gear bracelet on my wrist hoping Thalia was wearing her necklace too. I was wearing a long poofy dress that went from white at the top to the same beautiful deep blue at the bottom.

"Wow! Ombre's wearing Ombre!" I heard a voice say. I turned around and realised it was Thalia. She wore a shorter dress that was purple with a silver belt with a gear buckle in the middle. She also had her gear jewelry on, and her hair in waves. How could I forget the clip with a purple hair extension that matched her purple dress.

"You look great!" I said.

"You too!" she smiled. We followed Ken and Acella backstage and stood in line. They wished us good luck and walked off. A few moments later we could hear Axel Stormbough's loud booming voice over the microphone. They decided to interview the siblings first. He announced the female sibling from District 1, she walked on stage in a sparkly rose evening gown.
