Anne's POV
I woke up under Tony's arm and smiled. Things for us have been so easy in recent days and I couldn't have asked for anything more as I found myself enjoying days out at the park, nights spent going to dinner, or trying new things.
I felt Tony's arms pull me in closer and he kissed the side of my face.
"Good morning." With my eyes still shut I smiled.
"Mmm, good morning."
"So what're we doing today?" I turned over to face him and he opened his eyes to see me. I planted a kiss on his lips and cuddled deeper into him.
"I actually thought we could spend our day doing nothing."
"That's fine, but why?" I pulled away to look at his curiosity lined eyes.
"Well, I've noticed that there are so many people to do something with. But there isn't really anyone to do nothing with." (This is a line from one of my favorite t.v. shows so I will not take credit for it but if you know what show, I love you even more.)
"Ugh, it is so like you to be so lazy on a beautiful day for such a great reason." He leaned closer to me with the widest grin on his face and I leaned away, teasingly.
"Mr. Perry, are you trying to say that I don't get out, because if I recall, I've spent the last week or so with you going out."
"Hmm, I know. I just think it's cute when your buttons are pushed." I scoffed but leaned in anyways, yet we never got our kiss. I rolled my eyes at my phone and read the message from Jayne.
"MEETING RIGHT NOW!"
I turned the phone screen to Tony and he sighed. I climbed out of bed first and he followed after me, grabbing my hand. We noticed everyone else just getting up, too. Vic was pretty much dragging Valerie along, Jaime had a tired Belle slung over his shoulder, and the upstairs hallway was a little more than cluttered. When we reached the bottom of the stairs, Jayne and Mike were standing waiting for us, motioning for us to have a seat.
"I have to go to work early, so I have to do this now. Please sit." Once everyone sat down, Mike picked up where Jayne left off.
"Okay, so yesterday at breakfast, we left to go to the clinic. We weren't really happy and we were really nervous, but as it turns out..."
"I'M PREGNANT!" Jayne threw her arms into the air and everyone's faces looked initially shocked until the news sank in. 'Congratulations' floated around the room and the couple thanked us.
"Yeah, so I'm about a month along and that's pretty much it. You guys can go back to living again." Jayne left the house to go to work and Mike walked off into the kitchen.
"Who's hungry!?" Mike had called from the kitchen and we all exchanged looks before filing into the kitchen together. No one said anything about the pregnancy or the sudden announcement of it, we all just continued living like nothing happened. When I got into the kitchen, Mike was at the stove cooking while Belle and Tony were chopping vegetables for some of their vegetarian stuff. The chatter picked up soon and everyone was talking like it was a normal morning as we ate breakfast. When I felt my phone vibrate in my pocket, I pulled it out and rolled my eyes as I opened the text message from my boss.
"Congrats, I just got you booked for a week straight on one assignment. You're about to make some serious guap. Get your makeup kit and come down here ASAP!"
Sure, I was excited to be working again but I was also enjoying all the time I was able to spend at home. Tony and I's plans would have to wait.
In a hurry, I pushed my chair out from the table and rushed up the stairs, jumping into the shower I shared with Tony. I tried to ignore how great the warm water felt while I shoved a toothbrush into my mouth to try and speed up the process.
