"sugawara, i'm going on a jog!" i called out, slipping on my shoes. sugawara came out to the living room as i opened the door.

"it's a bit late, but alright. be safe!" he said, smiling and giving me a thumbs up. i smiled back and returned the thumbs up as i left the house.

i slightly ran to the park, not wanting to be late. once i finally got there, i saw tsukishima standing by himself near the park. approaching him, i waved in his direction.

"you came." he said quietly, facing me.

"of course i did. why did you want to meet up, though?" i asked, walking over to a nearby bench with him. sitting down, he shrugged.

"i don't know. i was bored." he said while fumbling in his pockets. he took out a pair of earbuds, then gave me one side. i put it in as he connected it to his phone.

"ooh! we should pick a song we play when we meet up here!" i say, trying to give us something to do and not sit in awkward silence.

"sure." tsukishima said, shrugging. we started scrolling through spotify playlists as we tried finding a song we would both like. i guess tsukishima likes anything as long as it's not too upbeat.

"hmm, what about this song? mr. loverman by ricky montgomery?" i asked, clicking on the song to play it. tsukishima had listened to it for a little while longer, than nodded.

"why'd you pick this song?" he asked, listening.

"hm. something about sad love songs make me want to play it on loop." i said, shrugging, staring off into a dark sky while we listened to music together.

it was serene, we didn't say a word but we didn't need to. the silence wasn't always. it was actually quite pleasant. we looked at stars while our brains were processing the sounds of a sad love song.

you could say it was almost like a scene out of a movie. i yawned quietly, my head drifting to the side until it ended up leaning on tsukishima's arm. tsukishima flinched at first, but looked down at me and let me stay that way.

"you look tired." he said, looking down at me. i nodded slowly, my eyes slowly closing. tsukishima sighed while watching his breath form as it got colder.

"we should go. we could get sick." he said, tapping me. i was still awake, just too tired to respond. tsukishima lifted me off his shoulder, then gave me a piggy back ride.

he walked to my house and finally put me down once we had arrived.

"thank you, tsukishima. sorry you had to carry me." i said, cheeks turning red from embarrassment and the cold.

"yeah, it's whatever. you're easy to carry anyway." he said. tsukishima then opened his mouth to say one more thing.

"call me tsukki. bye y/n." and with that, he left.
