Scene 1:
It's now September. The rest of the winter went by normally. Noah actually tried to get his cartoon on TV, and has yet to get an answer. Meanwhile, he just woke up, had breakfast, and is leaving to school, in the middle of the spring.
Judy: You're going already, Max?
Noah: Yeah mom.
Judy: Alright, be careful out there. It's magpie season. If they swoop on you...
Noah: (interrupting her) Relax mom. I have a CD. If they come at me, I'll reflect it in their eyes.
Judy: So you're prepared... Good call!
Noah: Yeah, I thought so too. Bye mom!
Judy: Bye Max!
[Noah leaves and goes to school. No magpies attacked him on the way. He was actually the first one of the pack to get there, but Duncan got there not too long afterwards]
Noah: G'day, mate!
Duncan: (angry tone)Yeah, for you!
Noah: What's going on?
Duncan: Those bloody fuckers!
Noah: The magpies? Have you tried holding a CD, to reflect light into them?
Duncan: You don't think I've tried that? They still attack me!
Noah: Boy, they must hate you.
Duncan: Yeah whatever... Anyways, it's Heather's birthday. What you gonna get her?
Noah: Indy and I are gonna give her this cool new sunglasses.
Duncan: Wow, you're giving presents together? You guys are really becoming a couple.
Noah: I wish.
[Indy gets there]
Indy: Hey, what's up?
Noah: Oh, I was just telling Duncan about those new sunglasses we're giving to Heather.
Indy: Yeah, they're really cool. What about you, Duncan?
Duncan: You'll see it when I give it to her.
Noah: Must be a really nice gift, if you're keeping it a secret from us.
Duncan: Maybe. You'll see.
[Heather got there, and everyone of them wished her a happy birthday]
Heather: So, I'm having the best birthday ever. My dad gave me a boat, for turning 15.
Noah: Wow.
Indy: Wow.
Duncan: Wow.
Heather: That's it?
Indy: I mean, a boat... wow.
Heather: It's a small speedboat. You guys are probably picturing a yacht.
Noah: Oh, that makes more sense.
Heather: But still, it can take a certain three people with me to go camping in Slade Island, during the summer. Now, I wonder who should I take?
Noah: If there's magpies in there, don't take Duncan.
Indy: (laughs) Or cotton candy stands, like that time in Kiandra.
Duncan: (angry) Not funny!
Heather: (laughs) Poor Duncan... Anyways, don't forget my birthday party later. Now let's go to class.
