We need to Talk

Yamaguchi got ready for school and left the house not even bothering to eat. He waited for Tsukishima at his house and quietly walked behind him to school.

"What happened?" Tsukishima asked turning to looked at the bandaged boy behind him

"What do you mean?" Yamaguchi asked clutching onto his bag and looking down at his feet.

"I hope you know I'm not stupid." Tsukishima says turning to face Yamaguchi. The bandaged boy froze in his tracks.

"Tsukki don't worry about it I'm fine." Yamaguchi said smiling at the blonde.

"Shut up Yamaguchi." Tsukishima said as he felt a blush creep onto his face.

"Gomen Tsukki." Yamaguchi quickly said pack

"I'm not gonna pressure you into saying anything but..." The blonde trailed off.

"But what Tsukki?" Yamaguchi asked.

"Just know I care about you okay?" Tsukishima answered back as he started walking away. Yamaguchi smiled and followed the blonde all the way to school.

'You know he's lying right?'

Why did the voice have to come back now of all times?

'It's funny how you actually think someone cares about you. Like really kid. Don't get ahead of yourself.'

Yamaguchi had to go through this the whole day. With the voice constantly reminding him how worthless he was and kids asking him why he had bandages around his face. He got tired of telling everyone he was fine when he obviously wasn't. But it wasn't like they actually cared. He knew that for a fact. The kids only asked him that because of how messy they were.

Volleyball practice slowly crept around. And Yamaguchi was not here for it . How could he survive practice looking like this?! He had Bandages wrapped around his body. And he had to change in front of everyone. He could skip practice but then people would probably be suspicious because he was literally in school a few seconds before. 

Yamaguchi walked into the gym quickly getting the attention of no other than Tanaka himself.

"DANG YAMAGUCHI WHAT HAPPENED TO YOU?" Tanaka yelled out as he and Noya ran over to Yamaguchi. Tanaka's yelling caused the other team members to glance over at at them.

"Haha nothing just got into a little fight." Yamaguchi answered back avoiding eye contact.

"With who?!" Tanaka asked as he reached Yamaguchi

"Do you need us to kick anyone's ass?" Nishinoya asked placing a hand on Yamaguchi's shoulder causing him to flinch.

"No I'm fine and to answer your question Tanaka it was with some random kids from another school." Yamaguchi lied as he plastered a forced smile onto his face. Tanaka frowned.

"Tch." Yamaguchi heard someone say as they walked into the gym. He turned around and saw Tsukishima standing behind him.

"When were you gonna tell me someone beat you up?" Tsukishima asked his bestfriend with a frown.

'Shit!' Yamaguchi thought to himself. He turned to face his best friend and gulped.

"It never crossed my mind." Yamaguchi mumbled looking down at the floor.

"Yeah I bet it didn't ." Tsukishima answered back as he started to walk off.

"OKAY EVERYONE CHANGE INTO YOUR JERESYS." Daichi yelled getting the teams attention. Yamaguchi headed into the dressing room along with the rest of the team until he was stopped by Suga.

"Yamaguchi." Suga said tapping onto the boy's shoulder "We need to talk."
