"My dad got me a bodyguard again." Chaeyoung whined on the phone to Lisa. "It's like he doesn't trust me."
"I don't think it's a matter of him not trusting you, Chae." Lisa said.
"It has to be. He even took my keys."
"Angry protestors have been vandalizing your house almost every night. Not to mention the other day when we left Saks your tires were slashed."
"Maybe it was an accident." Chaeyoung spoke in a question-like tone. "I do have a common car."
"You have a custom lamb truck with a custom license plate that has your name on it."
"I don't have any enemies though. There's no reason for anyone to want to attack me or for me to need a bodyguard."
"I don't know boo, but you're dad has always prioritized your safety, so just work with him. He most likely is just trying to keep you safe from whatever. You know what it means when there's too many coincidences."
"You may be right." Chaeyoung yawned. "I'm going to get in the shower and talk to my dad. I'll see you tomorrow."
"I'm always right." Lisa sassed. "Be nice to your dad, I love you."
"I'll try and I love you too." Chaeyoung said before hanging up.
She got out of her bed and found something to put on before going in the bathroom. She took a shower and did her nightly routine before putting on clothes to sleep in and find her dad.
Chaeyoung walked down the spiral steps to look for her dad. Her housekeeper Irene was leaving for the night. She said her goodbyes before locking up behind her.
Chaeyoung looked at Irene as her second mom. She'd been working for her family since Chaeyoung was five. Since her mom was barely around Irene basically helped raise her.
"Dad," Chaeyoung called before opening her fathers office door.
"Look who decided to let their attitude go."
"I didn't have an attitude." Chaeyoung stepped in and closed the door.
Gregory took his glasses off. "You need to understand that everything I do is for your safety."
Chaeyoung sighed and took a seat next to him. "I know it's just I turn eighteen in two months and I feel like you still don't trust me. Why do I even need a bodyguard?"
Gregory didn't tell Chaeyoung that he felt like the person who had been targeting him made Chaeyoung their next victim. He felt like she was too young and didn't want her to be stressed out about her wellbeing. He hoped having Chanyeol around could protect her.
