Remember THEY are watching you.( The Narrator)
Its all been done before. How many times has it been now since we've started this? A world that most would have to see to believe. And a place that not many knew of. Slender mansion. Within the spiritual realms of Gaia was a place that balanced out the many hidden secrets of this world. They've done it a long time. These spiritual beings that could open portals into our physical realm. But calling them spiritual...Well that wasn't really what they were now was it? Nothing could prepare the human mind for the explanation it took to explain who these people really are. Many called them"Creepy pasta's". The word almost so old that many thought these stories were for kids. Their stories were just that. Stories. Covering up the reality of what they actually are. I was honestly impressed with how far I got. Drove deep into this world without an actual reason to be in it. Starting in blood and ending in blood. My mind told me : This is it. This is where we end...Where we begin a new era.: I didn't know how to take those words... But for all it was worth" I will remain standing." Was the response they were all so eager to hear.( Mercy's POV) ( Age 21)
" God. Why can't you do your own homework?" I said with a sigh as I typed away. Doing her work for her was never fun. None of the work she ever gave me was hard. But it took a good chunk out of my day. Just sitting at the library, typing away at this damn computer. I was almost finished with the little bit of work I was given when the cell phone I had left beside the keyboard would ring. Looking down at the blue flashing screen. It was Emily calling me...Probably to check on how far I had gotten. Sighing I picked up the phone" Hello?" I questioned" Hey Mercy! How's it going?" I could hear Emily's high pitched voice shout excitedly from the other end. I looked at the computer screen and then at my pale fair hand that was still on the keyboard. I was almost done. I just had to fix the grammar" Uhh...Well...The papers almost done. I'm just fixing the grammar before I print it out." I explained" That's great!!! Then you should be able to make it to the café right?!" Emily would almost shout. My dark brown eyes would slightly widen from her sudden shouting" Uh...Yeah. It will be about an hour before I leave here. But I should be able to come to the café today." I took my time with my response. It shouldn't be much longer. There were some things I had to do here. But there wasn't much left. She was so exited" Great! I'll call Matty before my breaks over!" She responded almost instantly. I rolled my eyes and sighed. Matty was always a pain in the ass to deal with. But whatever makes her happy...Emily would chuckle" You know my brother Tod's going to be here today?" She would hint. I rolled my eyes again" Come on Emily. You know that neither me or Tod like each other." I would sigh" Oh come on Mercy! Don't be that way! My brothers a really charming guy! Maybe he'll give you a chance?!" Emily would suggest" No. I don't want a chance. I can't stand that guy! He's such an ass when he's around! He's more bitchy then Matty! And Matty becomes a complete bitch when he shows up! Besides the only charm that guy has is his looks, which aren't much." I would complain" Oh come on! Don't be that way Mercy! Give him a chance!" Emily would pout" You know I'm not that kind of person Emily. I'm not interested in dating others. I could care less. I'm not saying that he's not attractive. I'm just not interested. You'll have to find someone else." I would explain. Emily would sigh" Fine. I wont push it. Your so weird Mercy!" Emily would complain" Hey what can I say? I'm just naturally this way. I'll see you in a little bit." I would say as I shrugged my shoulders" Alright. I'll see you at the café!" Emily would say with excitement. I would end the call and finish the work I had left on the computer.
This was almost the regular routine for me. Even during the worst possible moments. Emily was a very old friend...One of very few human friends I actually had. She had a normal job at the local café in down town. It wasn't too far from the library. About a 10 minute drive to get there. Emily had just turned 22, and was a senior in collage. She was studying to be a psychologist. There was only one problem with that. She wasn't actually doing any of the work. I was doing it for her. Sure she had a bit of knowledge of it under her belt. But I was the one that ended up doing her home work and doing the research on the subject for her. So when I wasn't doing my job or the other 'work' I had, I was here at the library studying for her and making friends with the staff members. It wasn't just me doing her home work for her, so I was only here maybe 2 days out of each week. She had her brother and two other friends doing the rest. She gave me about 4-5 pages of home work to do for her each week. I've known her for 10 years. And she was a pretty normal girl...except for her one obsession. I wasn't normal like Emily. And I would never be able to live a normal life like she had...Even though we relied on the same parents" Mercy dear. We need to have a talk...Its about Emily again..." I would hear the female librarian say behind me. I would sigh and run my fingers through my parted short and fluffy dark brown hair before I turned to look at her. She was a nice lady, she really was. Her long black hair always placed in a neat bun with her bangs just above her bright green eyes, she was tan and would always wear a long sleeved white suite shirt and black pencil skirt, with black heels and tan pantyhose. She always wore red lipstick on her lips, and usually had her gold plated name tag pinned to the top left side of her shirt. This was Miss Archer. She stood at about 5'9ft while I stood at about 5'4ft. I had known her for 4 years since I moved to this town. I would sigh" Yes Miss Archer? What's wrong this time?" I would calmly ask" We had an incident a couple days ago. Emily caused another scene. But unfortunately it was with a minor." Archer would say in disappointment" Oh god...Alright. I'm listening." I would say with slight agitation. Not towards Archer, but towards what ever problem Emily had caused. Archer would nod" I know Emily has strong beliefs when it comes to these horror creatures. And usually its not a problem. But 2 days ago she terrified a 5 year old girl. To the point that the little girl was shaking and crying. The girls parents called the police and made a report. Because of this scene we've had to ban Emily for the next 4 months. We also wont be able to let people research the Creepy pastas for the next few weeks because of it." Archer would explain. My eyes would widen" Was it that bad?!" I would ask in slight shock. Archer would nod again" Unfortunately yes. The little girl wasn't just crying. She was shaking and screaming. Asking if " He was going to take her away?" While Emily was laughing. I don't know which story Emily was telling the child. But I believe that she made it much worse then what the online story actually says. Maybe you could have a talk with Emily?" Archer would ask in a worried tone. Creepy pasta. Now that was a subject with quite a few contradictions and deadly outcomes. I would sigh and nod" Yeah...I'll have a talk with her. I'm sorry for Emily's actions. I hope her actions don't reflect on me. I've talked to her many times about this subject. But it seems as if she hasn't been listening to me. I'm sorry for the trouble its caused." I would apologize as calmly as possible. I felt like ripping up this homework as a response to Emily's behavior. But all it would do is get me yelled at" Oh! It is no reflection on you Mercy! You've helped this library and this town enough for a clean name. Another persons actions is not a reflection of you at all. I respect the work you do. It protects my own beliefs." Archer would say in a happier tone. I would smile" Thanks Miss Archer. I'll finished printing out this paper work and try to talk to her about it again." I would say in a calm tone, turning back to the computer. Archer would smile" Thank you Mercy!" She would say in a happy tone as she walked alway. My life was not like Emily's...I was witch that worked for an organization that the government ran. My job was to cleanse haunted areas that were unbalanced. Along with many other kinds of hauntings. I went to peoples houses, churches, parks, towns, bars, and many other places. Some times I traveled. The organization usually placed me in areas that most of the other agents wouldn't even try to handle. Though there were those I worked with that would more then back me up if I actually needed it. I had been practicing magick for 14 years. I was 10 when the organization found me and took me in. Where they placed me with Emily and her family a year later. As far as I was concerned I didn't have a personal record before the age of 11. Many of the memories before the age of 10 were very hazy.
~ 10 minutes later~
After the printer was finally done I placed the done home work in the leather bag that I had strapped across my chest. As I stood up I looked at the outfit I was wearing. A long sleeved black hoodie that had a few red broken heart designs on it, along with my red skirt that reached just past my thighs, I had black leggings underneath my skirt so that I wouldn't show off a lot of skin, a pair of black boots on my feet, with some black and red stripped thigh high socks over my leggings. My skirt had cute black designs on it. I dressed based on my current mood and how I thought the day would go. My style always went between, gothic, casual goth, Lolita, or pastel goth. There were many times that I liked mixing the fashions. I decided it was time to leave the library. And after saying good bye to Archer I went to the parking lot and got into my old black painted car. I never really cared for keeping up with car brands, so I didn't really know what kind of car it was. It didn't take me long to get to the café. There wasn't much parking available. But I managed to find a spot. It was your typical coffee shop. With a typical design. It was almost like walking into a fast food place without the greasy food. It was now 3:30pm. Emily's shift should have been over by now. And sure enough once I walked inside Emily, Matty, and Tod were all sitting at the same four seated table in the corner of the café. Emily had peachy fair skin, with deep sea blue eyes, and sandy blond hair that reached the middle of her back, with slight bangs that were brushed to her left side. She always wore casual cloths at work, today was a light blue short sleeved shirt with white music designs and the word : Angel: across her chest in pretty white letters. Blue jeans that had a few pink butterfly designs on them and a pair of white sneakers on her feet. She had a few blue butterfly hair clips in her hair with a pink butterfly pendant that hung from a silver chain around her neck. Even though blue was always a good color on her, she would rather wear pink or lavender. Those were her favorite colors to mix with her style. Her usual style was cute pastels and sometimes country fashions. Honestly if it wasn't for the fact that she couldn't stand wearing black she could pull off pastel goth pretty nicely. Matty had chestnut colored skin with long bright crimson red hair that was usually curled and parted with her deep green eyes. Very visible freckles went cross her cheeks. Wearing her famous black and red corset, black and red striped pants and red high heels on. It truly was her best outfit. The beautiful red designs on her corset were almost to die for. A black chain around her neck with a golden butterfly pendant that dangled from it. Matty wore that necklace with pride even if it didn't match her outfit that day. She always wore heavy makeup. Dark black eye shadow and black eyeliner on her eyelids with that ruby red lip stick as always. Matty looked like she was ready to go to the club with those black chains hooked on both sides of her pants. She always dressed liked this. And I actually liked her style. Matty always wore bright reds, dusty greens or blacks. Then there was Tod who had the same skin tone and eye color as Emily. His sandy blond hair was extremely short and brushed back. He was wearing a black suite coat, purple suite shirt, black pants and a white tie. He always dressed like he was going to some type of formal party, or funeral. With the purple dress shoes to match. He always had this strange orange and gold butterfly pin on his suite, even if it didn't match. He always placed this pin in the top left corner of his suite jacket. Matty was 23 while Tod was 28. With heels Matty stood at 6'0ft without she stood at 5'7ft, while Emily stood at about 5'8ft, and Tod stood at 5'9ft. Emily gave me a big bright smile, while Matty would glare at me, Tod would smirk at the site of me...God what was I getting myself into this time? Emily would wave at me" We're over here Mercy!" She would shout from the other side of the café. All customers eyes were quickly darted at me as I would walk over to them. Getting strange glares, along with the occasional whisper" Hey isn't she that witch?" as I walked past them. I ignored every stare and whisper with a sigh as I stopped in place and looked at Emily and the other two with my arms crossed" Did I really have to come here today?" I would questioned her as Matty would move over and let me sit beside her" Oh come on Mercy! Don't be that way! We have so much to talk about!!!" Emily would slightly shout in a happy tone as Matty would glare directly at me with her arms crossed" Heh. Yeah Mercy...Tell us about the recent spells you've been doing?" Matty would say questioning her own words. I looked directly back at Matty questioning her choice of words before looking back at Emily who's smile suddenly had a slight menacing feel to it" Like you would ever want to hear of my work." I would respond to Matty without hesitation" Actually Mercy that's why I asked you to join us today." Emily would interrupt" Hmm?" I questioned the thought of them asking about my magick" We...No I really need your help this time. Something...Really important has come up for me, and I need to do this before it gets out of hand. Well before it goes beyond my hands." Emily would say in a sweet and kind tone. Her smile showed me nothing but ill intentions" I thought doing your homework was your 'help'? Doing all these little favors really is getting on my nerves Emily. I do have a job outside of taking care of the family. The family is suppose to no longer be my responsibility." I would say in a blunt tone. Emily was a friend of mine. But she had been asking for so many favors, both her and her parents were asking me to help her. Way back in the day when we were kids I had promised to help her when ever I could. I told them I wanted to repay them back one day for all that her parents had done for me. What I was before I met Emily...was something I never wanted to relive again" I know. But I have finally figured out a way that you can pay us back after all we did for you...Wouldn't you like to repay your debt to my family Mercy? Wouldn't you like to leave it behind once and for all?" Emily would ask in a sinister tone. So this was what she was becoming...After all those years...After all the pain, shame, love, laughter, and kindness...this was what it turned her into? I would sigh" Alright. I get it. What is it you want me to do Emily?" I would ask in an annoyed tone. Emily almost giggled before she opened her mouth" Summon Slenderman." She instantly asked with almost a violent kind of joy. Happy or exited were no longer the words to describe that wide smile on her face. Wide eyes that spoke of insanity. It was almost enough to make my skin crawl. I shook my head and signed" Not this again. How many times have we talked about this Emily? This obsession is not going to give you anything." I felt like I was repeating myself. Trying to get her to understand how dangerous her actions could be was near to impossible" But that's just it! I know it will! I know these creatures exist. I know they do! Come on Mercy. You know how I am...Look at my position. I have people counting on me to make this happen. My friends are outcasts. They aren't accepted in this town. You know that. Come on Mercy...Have some passion for the little guy." Emily would try to convince me. I crossed my arms" Oh please. Your group is anything but outcasts in this town. Your parents are the riches people in this town. People treat you and your 'friends' with respect because your parents are such a big influence on this town. Hell your parents are the nicest people in this town. They've rebuilt burned down businesses. Have donated tons of money to the local charities. They build shelters, and help the mayor run this town." I explained cracking her outcast theory about her little group. Emily would smirk" Oh that's right. My parents help people... How did that slip my mind? You are right on one thing they give me a good name. But my friends are a much different story Mercy. You know that. Most don't even know that I am the leader of the Lycaena Factors. I want to change that. I want this town to know my name like they know yours. I want to change this town like my parents. I want to change how people see the paranormal. Wouldn't showing people the reality of these worlds show people the truth Mercy? Wouldn't people be better off knowing the true reality of this world? Wouldn't showing people creatures like the creepy pastas bring the reality to the light?" She twisted her own words. She had a point...But the reality of her point could be filled with devastation to this town. This small town that was so far out it was almost not even known to the rest of the world" That's an interesting way of putting it Emily. But how would summoning Slenderman, or these things you call the' creepy pastas' be a way to show people any type of reality? Why mess with the balance of this world? Why change the views of each person in this town? What would the point be? What if you cause devastation? What if people die because of this Emily? What then? What will you do when real blood is on your hands? You have a pretty good life Emily. Why do you want to risk throwing it away?" I questioned her. I couldn't say that I wouldn't be able to fix her actions as long as they weren't to devastating. But what would become of her parents? What about these people she's dragging around with her? Did she really see these people as friends? Did she actually care about these people? Matty would roll her eyes" Come on Mercy. You know just as well as the rest of us know that none of the spells Emily has shown you would ever actually work. Humor her for once. It might actually get her off your ass." Matty would comment in a cold tone. Emily would glare at Matty as Matty shrugged her shoulders. Matty was right. None of the spells that Emily showed me would ever work. Emily had no true magick knowledge. At best Emily knew how to make basic voodoo dolls that didn't work about 80% of the time because she usually didn't follow the basic steps on how to make them work. I sighed. Not caring to much for Matty's words. But she did have a point. Actually doing what ever spell Emily gave me to do could finally get her off my ass" What's in it for me? What do I get in return for this 'spell' your asking for? Money? Peace and quite? Not having to deal with the crazy crap you do to others?" I would instantly ask. Emily's eye would twitch in slight frustration before my words even hit her. She finally started smiling again" How about this. I wont make you do my homework or involve you in my group, or ask you about the creepy pastas again if you do this for me this one time. I'll leave you to your work and you don't have to be concerned about the family any longer. You can live your life without having to worry about me." Emily would suggest. She was cocky. She used her charm to group people together. And this person was my friend. No matter how manipulative she actually was...She helped me when I was on my last leg. Her parents gave me a room of my own. They treated me like family. Included me in their traditions and never asked me about my work. Even to this day I get invited to family gatherings. I owed this family a lot. Not money wise, but as far as my time went. I owed them at least that much" Alright. Fine. Its a deal. If it will get you off my ass I'll do it. But only this one time. There's not a second chance with this. If it doesn't work you have to drop it and find some one else. I can't keep covering for your actions." I would say as I would stand up. Emily would give me a warm smile" Thank you Mercy. You truly are my friend." Emily would say. What heart tearing words" I'll need this spell you claimed to have found. Along with the source you got it from. If this goes wrong I want to know where it comes from. We can do it later tonight at my house." I would say as I crossed my arms yet again" Couldn't we do it at the local park or something like that?" Emily would ask with slight disappointment" No. I refuse to do any of this in the eyes of the public. No one else needs to know about this as of this moment. I don't see a point in ruining my own reputation for your request...I'll have time at around 9pm. For now I'm going to the house to prep the things I might need. Text me the spell and send me the link you found it from." I would say as I started to walk away" Hey! How would you know that I got it online?!" Emily would almost yell at me. I chuckled" Because. There's no book that shows you the proper way to summon Slenderman." I would say in a smart ass tone. Emily would cross her arms and pout" Fine...I'll send you the link when I get home." Emily would slightly whine as I would leave the café.
~ Time skip 1 hour later~
I Instantly had gotten back into my car and started driving home. My house was about an hour away from town. It was on the edge of a forest that no one really ever took the time to go to. It was close to an abandoned park that none of the locals would go near. I had no neighbors. The only people that ever came to my house other then the people I worked for and the mailman was Emily and her little group. Emily brought her group members here every once in a while telling them to come to me if they ever had any problems. Of coarse I would tell them I didn't help people for free. And would not help them if they didn't actually need it. I didn't much care for it when one of them would randomly show up at my doorstep asking for help or giving me orders from Emily. Half of the time I ended up slamming the door in most of their faces. I didn't like it when Emily didn't tell me what she wanted herself. And by this point I was expecting Emily to bring her entire group to my house for this 'spell' she wanted me to do. I had moved into a re-modeled old house, most of the locals said it was haunted. It was...well was, with a few exceptions. It was an old wooden house that was painted white, with a grey roof. I had the front and back yard neatly trimmed, with the exception of my rose garden in the back yard. I had a couple red rose bushes in the front of the house, and a dirt drive way. With a metal garage to the left of the house. This house had 3 levels. The attic, the 2nd floor, and then the bottom floor. There was a secret basement that I let my little 'roommate' use. By this point I was already at the front door unlocking it and going inside.
The walls were painted white, while the floors were made of oak wood. There was a small TV sitting in front of a brown sofa in the bottom left corner of the slightly large space, a couple consoles and controllers hooked up to it with video games sitting beside it. In the top left corner was an opening that lead into the very boring kitchen. The top right was the wooden stair case that lead upstairs, there was a door beside it, closer to the right wall. This door lead into my herbal closet. Which of coarse was the place I kept all my herbs and potions. In between the stair case and kitchen opening, was a hallway that lead towards the washer room, and the back door that lead outside into my rose garden. I walked up the stairs, and walked down the hallway of the second floor untill I got to the other stair case that lead up and into the attic. The attic was my second favorite room in the house. It was what I called my bedroom and is the second largest room in the house, with plenty of space for my things. I had my bed in the top right corner of the room, facing the window that was in the top left corner. I had a computer in the bottom right corner that was sitting on a wooden desk, with a black leather chair in front of it. That desk was where I did most of my work. I had a closet door in the middle of the left wall, while I had a few of my most favorite plush toys organized on the right side of the room near my bed. I had a lot of creepy plush dolls, many of them were the very voodoo dolls that I had made and learned to use. I couldn't sleep without something to hold. I slowly walked over to my bed, sitting on the patchy orange and black pattern of the blankets that laid over it. I would then sigh and lay back placing my head on my fluffy black pillow. My mind raced. Thoughts of how I met Emily crossed my mind. I remember when we were kids and how she was like. A sadistic child. A child that had only ever been nice to me through out her life. She didn't even show her parents the same actions as she showed me. While she used and manipulated other children, she would protect me from the kids that would try bullying me. No matter who it was. If someone even looked at me the wrong way she would defend me. Confusing. She was such a confusing person. She's changed so much. Going from the kid that would defend me, to the now very grown adult that was using me. But this was it. After I do this for her I'm cutting her off completely. Family or not...I am not like the people she uses. I refuse to be seen the same way she see's them.
She was obsessed with them. Obsessed with the fantasy she had created in her mind about the creepy pastas and their world. But I knew she was wrong. I had been to the spiritual world to many times to even begin to think her idea's were correct. She was right. I wanted people to know the truth. I wanted people to see the reality of it all. But I didn't want to throw people in the same way I was thrown into it. I didn't want people have their beliefs broken. Because even if the truth came out...Their beliefs would still be right. Because the biggest rule in the magick realms...Everything that has ever been thought of, created, or will be. Already exists in some way shape or form. There is no end to the possibilities. The underlying truth of what makes those realities possible...Was better left unknown. Those words : Look kid! Your powerful! You can destroy and ruin peoples lives! But you chose to try and help! Throw away all logic and reason right now! Your not a monster! You can do great things!: My old trainers words still hits me hard to this very day. Throw away all logic and reason. Those words made so many different things possible to do.
My cell phone would make a loud dinging sound. I took the phone out of my bag and looked at it. Emily had finally texted me and sent me the link to what her source for the spell was.:
