"Babe, you gotta get up. We're gonna be late."
I turned, seeing my boyfriend lazily putting on his shirt, frowning at the mirror, looking at his messy hair.
"I don't like school either, but if we're gonna get outta here, we gotta graduate."
I rub my eyes, and watch him as he runs his hands through his hair, trying to make it somewhat attractive.
That is what I want. To escape from here, to leave and never look back. To smell the California air and indulge myself in the sun. But right now I'm stuck in Arkansas.
And I need to get ready for school.
I stretch and take off the covers, and grab a pair of jeans off the floor. I find a black tank top, and go look for breakfast.
"You're only half dressed." Owen follows me into the kitchen, grabbing an apple.
"I'll put on a hoodie.""You're still wearing a crop top? You don't think anyone is gonna say anything to you?"
"You should know I'm not conforming to a dress that only puts restrictions a women's body, O." I snap. I grab a granola bar, putting it in my bag for school.
"Alright Lynn, you ready?"
"Let's go.
