ariana's pov
i'm so excited to hang out with the boys today. i've been super stressed with tour and performing everyday and i could really use a break from all of this. don't get me wrong, i love my job, i love my fans and i absolutely love performing, but sometimes it all gets a little too much and there's nothing better to help us cope than good company.
it was around 12 pm when niall texted me and said they were in my hotel lobby waiting for me. i grabbed my purse and said bye to my crew and that they shouldn't wait up for me because i didn't know for how long we would be gone for.
when i got to the lobby, i said hi to the boys and we went off to walk around the most beautiful city in the world. when i was a kid, my mom always told me that her dream was to go to paris. so when i got my first paycheck, the first thing i did was buy her a ticket. i will never forget the look on her face. she wasn't the perfect mom but i knew she tried her best and that was the least i could do to repay her for all of the sacrifices she had done for me. so naturally, paris has always been a special place for me.
we were on our way to get ice cream after dinner when niall got a call and said he had to rush back to the studio to solve a few things but said that shawn and i should still go get our ice creams. we said our goodbyes and shawn and i literally talked about everything on our way there, there's something about him that just makes you feel safe to talk about your darkest secrets. hes' so outgoing and easy to talk to, i could use someone like this in my life.
we got to the shop and got the table outside because there was a beautiful sunset happening. he ordered chocolate chips and i got my usual mango one.
"what makes someone order mango ice cream?" he asks with a smile on his face
"hey! everyone knows mango is the elite fruit, and fruit ice cream is way better than those artificial ass flavours." i answer while taking a scoop of the best mango ice cream i have ever eaten in my entire life. i'm definitely coming here every time i'm in paris
"here, try some" i offer him a spoon of it "okay, it's actually really good" he said while getting up to throw both of our cups in the trash can
"HA! I TOLD YOU!" i said with a smile on my face
i was getting my credit card to pay for our food but shawn was faster and got his instead
"you didn't have to do that, i could have paid for us"
"i know i didn't but my mum raised me better than that" he chuckled
"tell her she made an amazing job" i said smiling
it was around midnight when we decided to head back and shawn insisted on walking me home even though i said i could just get an uber
"you know, i really had a great time today. i haven't had this much fun in so long that i actually forgot how it was like to not have a billions thoughts running through my mind all the time. it felt nice to not to worry about nothing for a day" i said blushing
"i'm glad i could help you. i know how overwhelming touring can be specially since it's your first tour, but things do get easier over time. also, now you have me to talk to whenever things get too much. i mean it. don't hesitate to call or text me. i'm available all the time for you." he said, giving me a side hug
"thank you, i really appreciate it. it means a lot to me to know that i can count on you, and i hope you know you can count on me as well."
we said our goodbyes and got each others phone numbers and i told him to text me when he got to his hotel so i could know he was okay.
when i finally got to my hotel room and put my phone in the charger, the first i did was call mac so we could talk about our days as we would always do. he didn't pick up when i first called so i went to get a shower and to get ready for bed. when i got out, he was facetiming me so i picked up
"hi baby" he said with that smile that i was in love with
"hi!! how are you?" i asked with nothing but love for the man in screen
"i'm fine, just a little bit tired of working. how about you, what did u do today?? i know it was your day off but i know you well enough to know you didn't use the day to rest"
"says the guy who has the biggest eye bags under his eyes. you need to get some sleep baby, i'm worried about you" i say with the puppy eyes i know he won't resist
"anyways, i'm ok. i went out with niall and shawn today, we went sighseeing and had dinner. but niall had to leave early because of work so shawn and i went to grab ice cream and we lost track of time and that's why i called you so late. but it was nice getting out of a routine for once, ya know? the ice cream place is amazing, you're gonna love it. you have to try the mango one, we have to go there the next time we're in paris
"aw that's nice, i'm glad you had a nice day baby, he seems like a fun dude." "we're adding the final touches to the album and i really like it, i'm excited."
"i can't wait to get home so i can hear it, just a few more weeks babe." i said with a sad smile. i was really starting to get homesick "enough with the sad face. you know i got ya. no distance can keep us apart. we've talked about this babe, it's ok. we'll be together in a few weeks.
"i know, i'm sorry, it's just hard not having you here. now get some sleep, i mean it malcolm. i can't take care of you all the time, you gotta know when it's time to stop, i love you, nice dreams baby"
"i will, i promise. take care my angel, i love you more."
we hang up and i lay down to sleep. when im almost falling sleep, i get a text

i had a blast with u today, hopefully we can hang out again
