The Beginning

Amelia woke up by an extremely creepy alarm she had insisted on keeping because she thought it's funny. Even when sleepy, she is quick enough to disable it before her roommates can hear it and curse her. Her classes weren't for another three hours but our girl was awake.
A few minutes pass before she has the courage to leave her warm bed and make towards the showers.

If you have never experienced community bathrooms of a university campus, ask yourself a question from the rest of the universe's behalf, how does it feel to be god's favourite?

One of the golden rules of surviving in a dorm is finding your perfect bathroom stall and sink, and hold it more sacred than your life. Caddy slinging and towels hanging from her shoulder, she makes her way to her "preferred" stall, you know the one that is relatively cleaner? Used by the least amount of people? Exactly that.

After all the time they had been living together her roommates had come to accept that her world began two or three hours before theirs. Waking up to her reading with wet hair is one of their most comforting sights. A sign that everything is okay.

"Breakfast before getting ready or after getting ready?"
Anne squinted at her because of the sunlight pouring from the window, "Let me become a human first perhaps"

"Don't look here"
"Or here"
"Both of you just look away as well"
Even though the room wasn't THAT big, it had its nooks where all three girls could change clothes without looking at each other. Fond of privacy, but not of dirty bathrooms after everyone's morning showers, few months into uni and they had decided they weren't going to change in those washrooms any longer.

Anne made loud kissing noises and sent them flying hearts before she left for her class. An accepted tradition among them to always start the day with love. No matter what it may hold always begin the day with positivity.

The day flew by amidst all the deadlines and work and soon came 4 pm. The time that usually marked the end of her schedules of the day, somehow made her nervous today.

She stood outside the double glass doors waiting patiently for her turn.
"Uh, you're Amelia?"
She nodded because of the lack of words she suddenly started to experience.
"Come on in, they're waiting"

And in she went.

"How was the interview? You had yours today right?"  Anne asked over dinner, they were seated with their whole clique.

Life changed for Amelia when she came to Oxford. She went from a no-dinner person to dinner-only person, all thanks to her hectic work routines and her priority to rather stay at school than go back to mess hall for lunch.
"The usual. Boring questions. I was sleepy though, didn't even realize she was talking to me at first"

Amelia answered honestly, although she was nervous she was sleepy after her long hours of classes and labs as well.

"Wait it's a she? Mine is a guy. Both of them"
"How was yours though?"
They went on to talk about their interviews and classes for a while before Anne's phone buzzed.
"Guys hold up! I got in!"  Anne squealed with excitement and showed her screen to everyone. They rushed towards Anne congratulating her and hugging her.
"Check yours too, you should have gotten one too"
But Amelia knew she hadn't.

"It'll come if it has to, don't worry about it"

"But we are supposed to do this together"

Amelia passed her a knowing look but wondered if she really hadn't passed the interview....
Was she that bad? Since when are event team interviews so strict, aren't they supposed to let anyone be in it?

They went out and grabbed ice creams to celebrate Anne
"Wait I got a text let me check"
Amelia passed her cone to Anne who peered over the screen as well

O.M.G.

"You got in" Anne whispered before exploding her vocal speaker to tell it to their friends "Amelia got in as well!!!!!"
Amelia kept looking at the screen while relief washed over her, while she was getting hugged by several arms

I was okay. I did okay

"Wait I got the text from the same guy"
"Which guy?"
Amelia asked confused
"The HR guy? The signee? Haven't you seen it? I think we'll have the same HR boy, would be fun"

Amelia peered over the signed name,

Noah Park
