                                                                           Chapter 2:

After I signed the contract. Which was literally a piece of parchment with details and conditions. I learned that the place I was currently in was called a 'basement'. “So it's below the house?” I ask curiously and she give's me an 'are you serious'look. I laugh sheepishly. Although in my defense, I haven't been on Midgardr in who knows how long. “Come on Loki, my family's upstairs. Their probably panicking by now.” I nod my head, following after her before suddenly stopping.

“What?” She asks, pausing at the foot of the stairs. “You know my name but I don't know yours.” I say quietly. She stares at me before grinning and extending her hand out and she introduces herself. “Nice to meet you Loki. I'm Lily.”

Lily. Wasn't that a type of flower. Hmm. The name does suit her. The long pale blond hair, the bright vibrant blue eyes. The small yet slender figure. A pale skin tone, and a ditzy personality that only see's the good in everything.

Yup. The personality of a flower, but not quite that of a lily. “Why are you looking at me?” The question throws me out of my thoughts and I look at her. “No reason.”

She lets out a frustrated huff and grabs my hand; promptly dragging me up the stairs and through the basement door. We walk into the living area of the house where seven other mortals were waiting. They glance curiously over at me before Lily ran up to them and tackled them in a hug. “Lily!” One of the youngest males exclaims, picking her up and spinning her around.

“I'm so proud of you lily.” The oldest of the females said. She had a striking resemblance to Lily, and I came to the conclusion that this woman must be her mother. “Who'd you summon anyways?” The youngest boy asks. He was probably two years older than Lily. At least I think he is. Mortals age differently than gods.

“Everyone, I'd like you to meet Loki: The Norse god of Mischief and Fire.”

Silence cloaked the room for a couple of seconds before it was broke with a deep chuckle. “Good one sweat-heart.” The eldest man says, pulling Lily into a one armed hug. “Dad!” Lily yells. Her father chuckles letting her out of the hug and she comes running up beside me. “I'm serious.” She says. A lot more laughter from her family followed her comment.

“You do know she's not joking.” I say to her family, startling them all. I didn't say it to help her, I said it to help my situation. They're technically indirectly insulting me. And that’s just annoying. “Oh really.” the eldest brother says, walking up to me and putting a finger on my chest accusingly. “Prove it.”

I sigh at the mortals behavior. “Fine.” I mutter. “What do you want me to do?” The boy smirks. “Show me fire.” I raise an eyebrow in question, thinking it was probably going to be harder than that but nevertheless, I comply. My emerald green eyes turn a bright red as fire starts to dance along my finger tips. I mold the fire into silhouettes of people and animals before letting the fire extend and fly around into the air gracefully.

The mortals look around at the images; entranced by the shapes as they mold into different pictures. Each flame telling a story. Most of the past. Occasionally the flame would spark up and show possible outcomes of the future. But while it may be strange to the mortals, I keep in mind that the flames are alive and that they tend to have a mind of their own. That and they can only be tamed by few. Such as myself.

“Need anymore proof?” I ask in amusement. They look at me as I flick my wrist slightly and all the flames vanish. The older brother nodded and cleared his throat. “If you really are Loki, show us your weapon.” My eye twitches slightly. This mortal is getting annoying. My eyes gleam as I comply to the request.

“Well, it's not technically mine.” I say as the scepter Gungnir materializes in my hand. I point it at the boy threateningly. “It's Odin's.” Lily grabs my arm suddenly, pulling Gungnir closer to her as she examines it. The other mortals swarm around my borrowed weapon while casting curious glances at me. The youngest of the males whistles in disbelief. “It's the real deal.” He says as he attempts to grab it out of my hands to examine it further.

I dematerialize it before any of the mortals could touch it. The weapon would only cause harm to the humans. “Do you believe me now?” I ask the eldest child in amusement and he looks down in embarrassment before nodding his head and retreating to the back of the room. I smirk as my eyes go back to their normal emerald green. Mortals sure are interesting creatures.

Lily grabs my arm once again and pulls me towards the center of the room. I look at her questionably, but she ignores me and just clears her throat. “Alright everyone; I do believe introductions are in order.”

A/N: Sorry! I know A/N's are annoying but I just wanted you to know, that if your reading my story. I will not update without some sort of review of like. No all of you have to do it. I just need to know that people are actually enjoying it so I can update more without worrying. Thanks!
