You awake to the soft sound of the rain beginning to lighten up outside and Shane's warm breath sleeping breath on the back of your neck. A soft sigh of comfort parts from your lips as you press up against him even more. You feel him begin to awake. He slowly opens his eyes as you turn towards him.

"Good morning handsome." You say as Shane rubs the sleep out of his eyes and lets out a big yawn.

He chuckles at your greeting, "Good morning to you too gorgeous." He replied, placing a gentle kiss on your lips. His voice was so deep and husky in the morning. Shane slowly threw his legs onto the floor and began dressing himself for the day. You look over at your alarm clock. 5 am. Both of you had to get up and go to work in a little over an hour from now. You frowned, realizing this would probably be the last of him you saw for today.

"Don't give me that look." he said sweetly, "As much as I'd love to say for another round we both have to get to work today. Time won't stand still just for us."

"At least let me cook you breakfast," You say as you throw on your thin robe to cover your bare body. "It's the least I can do to repay you for last night."

He wrapped his arms around your delicate waist as you tied the front ribbons of your robe in a loose bow.

"You don't owe me anything, last night was amazing." He leans in almost pressing his nose against yours. "You were amazing."

You feel your cheeks begin to heat up as he softly nibbles on your ear. "You're not too bad yourself 'ya know." You tease, throwing your arms around his neck. You bring your lips up to his and kiss him passionately, savoring these last few moments with him before the two of you must return to the rest of the world.

The two of you share a quick breakfast of toast and omelets with some veggies from your garden. You notice that Shane dumps as much hot sauce as he can on his breakfast. Maybe that's something to keep in mind for the future. As you watch him eat you realize how little you know about him. You know his schedule, that he and you have similar ideals, and that he likes beer and hot sauce. None of these are bad traits to have per say, but you wonder what else makes him who he is. Does he have any friends? What does he do in his free time besides drink? He's sitting right in front of you, you could ask him all these things and more right now if you wanted. But for some reason you keep your mouth shut. Leaving your questions about him to bounce around in your mind. You worry that getting too personal will scare him off.

After breakfast is finished he stands up to say goodbye. Gifting you with one last kiss before parting ways. It really is a shame that work the two of you can't spend more time together, but alas, time still moves forwards. The world won't stop just for two people, no matter how much they may want it to.

The next three days of the week go by in a flash, until it's Monday once again. You've been in town for a full week now and you're starting to get into a routine. You were so busy with the farm the past few days you weren't able to go visit Shane at the bar after his shifts. You thought about maybe going in to quickly visit him at the Joja Mart but thought it best to give him his space at work. It's not like he ever comes to your farm while you're planting.

You step out of bed and fashion your long wavy hair into a loose ponytail to keep it out of your face. You quickly throw on a black sports bra and some overalls. After filling your watering can in your kitchen sink, you step out onto your front porch, ready to work. As you step onto the dirt path that leads to your crops you notice your mailbox out of the corner of your eye. A small bent letter is poking out the side of it. You set your watering can down on the steps and open the creased envelope.

"Dear [Y/N],

Been awhile since I've seen you 'round the bar. Hope I didn't scare you off or nothing. In all seriousness, you should stop by tonight. I got invited by Sam and his friends to stop on by for a game of pool and was instructed to bring a friend. Hope to see 'ya there.

Best wishes, Shane

Ps, I attached a recipe for pepper poppers you might enjoy. I don't know if you like spicy food or not so feel free to throw it away if 'ya don't."

You smile warmly as you finish reading the letter. His handwriting is a lot more neat than you expected. It's sweet that he invited you. Even though you're not much of a people person, at the very least, this could be a way for you and Shane to get to know each other a bit more.

Your mind races of thoughts about him all day as you work in the fields. As your work day comes to a close you look over at your clock. It's 6 pm. That gives you enough time to change out of your mud covered overalls and into some nice clothes and head down to the bar. You take a quick warm shower and throw on a pair of ripped skinny jeans and a black button up flannel. You let your long shiny black hair fall out of its ponytail and flow freely. You take one look in the mirror before you leave, looking casual but confident.

You take a step out of your home and lock the door behind you. You take a deep breath as you start making your way off the farm and into town, excited to see what this night will have to offer.
